Re: Ultravox reforms!
His music is way too eclectic at this point for me to even appreciate it and he stopped touring and lives the life of a hermit. His 80s albums are my favorite of his work but still I like Japan more.

New Ultravox album nearing completion!
We are delighted to announce that following Ultravox's return to the live arena in 2009/10 with their successful Return to Eden tour, that they have recently signed a deal with Universal Records. A natural progression from the reformation that was a celebration of their 30th anniversary, the band have been working on new material for an album since Autumn 2010, which is now nearing completion.
"We've had such a great time performing our old songs over the last two years that we just didn't want it to end! There's an immense satisfaction in looking across the stage and seeing those familiar faces playing the songs that we wrote as a unit. When we sat down to attempt to write some new songs we found that the ideas just kept coming and so a new album became not just inevitable, but something we really wanted to do together. Once again the whole has proved to be greater than the sum of the parts."

Re: Ultravox reforms!
Best news I have heard yet this year!!
I just turned 40 and knowing that I have a new Ultravox album,(probably) a new Yes album and a new Thomas Dolby album to look forward to later this year(not to mention the latest from Killing Joke and Devo, which I have yet to pick up)almost makes me feel like it's 1980 something!
Now,if only some one can light a fire under Adam Ants ass and/or convice FGTH to reform and put out new material..

^ Adam Ant just played a series of successful concerts in London. Check YouTube for Adam Ant 2010. He's gotten himself back into shape and is sounding good (even though he still seems a little whack).

As far as 80s bands, others may not agree, but I think Simple Minds has put out a lot of good stuff in the 90s and 00s. They've done a bunch of cool covers, too:
