BEWARE; this offering is deceptive. I'm sure Amazon isn't attempting to mislead people, but the fact is all these glowing reviews you are reading ARE NOT FOR THIS ALBUM. They are for the original Atlantic Records album, called "My Favorite Things" which, except for the title cut. has completely different songs on it. The original album is a timeless classic which completely deserves all the praise heaped on it, but the album they are offering here looks like a cheaper bootleg - there are many bootleg Coltrane albums on the market with these low-tech looking graphics and poor sound quality. I'm not saying this one is bad...I have never heard it - but the point is, most of these reviewers have never heard it either. You are totally buying this at your own risk.

That explains a good deal actually. I was looking at a book recently and the reviews were all over the place. After reading through them it seemed like they were talking about completely different editions of the same book.
Either way, the My Favorite things listed in the DotD is the digital copy of the exact CD (and i actually have it on LP as well) that i own and it is phenomenal.

A month or so back i snagged a Coltrane/Monk album for 99 cents as well from Amazon. Hopefully we see more of jazz and classical coming down the pike.

If you search around, you can find lots of Coltrane and Miles Davis for under $5 -- they're mostly live albums, often containing just a handful of really long tracks.
And Miles Davis' In a Silent Way is $1.98 all the time. That's easily the best two bucks you'll ever spend on music.
