Usually any item from BB that has a bonus disc has a sticker on the front saying so. If you didn't check for the sticker, or ask a rep, you wouldn't have gotten one.

I was at my local BB today getting the Sabbath box. They had 5 on the shelf and none were labeled with a bonus disc. I asked they guy when I checked out wondering if maybe it was supposed to be behind the counter and he didn't know. He asked the guy that works in the cd dept and that guy said it should be in the box. We opened the box and there was no other disc. One girl who was there was trying to tell me that the 2nd disc on Live Evil was the bonus. We got a manager over and he checked and found no info.

Finally the manager said that they must have sold out of the ones with the bonus disc. I was there on Tuesday looking for this and they didn't have them in stock. I checked their website Wed morning and it showed out of stock, but when I checked again in the afternoon, they were showing in stock. Good luck finding the bonus disc. I think I am going to send an email to their customer service to see if they can tell me anything. I picked up the set anyway because BB has it for the best price I could find...

Are the disks packaged in individual cases? I have some of the remastered releases, but not all of them. Still on the fence on this one...

They are individual jewel cases inside the cardboard box. The cd booklets have new liner notes, but no lyrics and there is no additional book like the Black Box.

The box sets with the bonus disc have:
- A silver sticker on the front with the Best Buy logo which reads: "Exclusive Live Bonus Disc 5 Songs From 1981 Concert."

- The bonus disc is shrink wrapped, in a cardboard sleeve, to the back of the box.

- Back of the box has track listing for ALL discs (including bonus disc)

- UPC# 0-8122-79908-1-7 (located on bonus disc)

- The regular barcode is located on the bottom of the box, but it's covered up with a black sticker.

Like Doctor X, I went to BB today looking for this. Three stores didn't have it at all. At the 4th store, I asked a clerk when I couldn't find it on my own. The girl (20-something, urban) had no idea who Black Sabbath was, or what I was asking about. I finally found it on my own. I also asked at the register if they had the bonus disc behind the counter, cos none of the sets there had any visible disc attached or any sticker on it. The cashier (also 20-something, urban) also had no idea who Black Sabbath was, or what I was asking about.
Per EvlAsh's descrption, I obviously did not get the bonus disc (it's going back tomorrow night).
The BB site mentions the bonus disc here:

http://www.bestbuy.com/olspage.jsp?
On an OT note - I was also looking for the three U2 deluxe edition reissues they had advertised for $19.99 each. After hitting four BB's, the only one I was able to find was "War". BB's lack of stock on their advertised items + the utter apathy of their clueless staff is really starting to gall me...

I went on Tuesday looking for the Black Sabbath and U2 sets. They had a bunch of War, a couple of Boy and one October and no BS box. I got the U2 sets and went back on Wednesday for the Black Sabbath.

As a follow up to my above post, I got a response from the Best Buy customer service telling me that they couldn't help me but I should call the 1-800 number and talk to someone there. I'll post a follow up after I talk to them.

And I think said live tracks came from that Rhino "live at Hammersmith" CD that came out last year.

...But I think Saturday is the last day of the sale...

PS - hit two more BB's tonight. Returned my unopened non-bonus-CD Sabbath box with no problem. Neither store had one Sabbath box in stock. Neither store had one U2 DE in stock.
This time I played it smart - I got a raincheck. The clueless customer service clerk said he could give me a raincheck on the "Boy" DE, but not on "October" (WTF?).
I also got a raincheck for the Sabbath box BUT it was pointed out to me that when I'm notified that it has arrived in store, it may or may not be the one with the bonus disc.

I preordered it at BestBuy.com and it took about 2 weeks for delivery and I did not get the exclusive bonus 6th CD.

I thought since I ordered it on July 18 they would reserve the one with the bonus CD for me.

I was willing to pay $39.54 total with $1.49 for shipping and $3.06 for sales tax if they would have mailed the bonus CD.

I could have bought it at Amazon for $34.99 if I just wanted the regular set and avoid sales tax and shipping fees.

I think the only place that has it is Ebay but I don't want to pay $70 for it.

Any comments about the sound quality? I already have all of the Dio era albums on CD and don't see any point in buying the box unless it offers a significant upgrade. Especially since the box includes nothing in the way of extras.

I found a mint used copy of the box a few days ago (only $22!) and just finished listening to Dehumanizer. Probably the first time I've listened to it all the way through in at least a decade and I had forgetten how good it is. The sound quality is fine but I doubt it is much better than the original CD. I'll be more curious to hear how H&H and Mob Rules sound since I listen to the old CDs much more often and should be able to notice the remastering.

The packaging really is disappointing, though. Rhino should have at least included a decent booklet with all the lyrics.
