i actually just bought it yesterday from amazon along with Neil Young's greatest hits, David Gray's greatest hits and little voice from sara b. I was going to order 4 more next week but they dropped duffy's cd to 7.99 so I'm just going to do another amazon order as well as an amazon.uk order. I'll also order a few imports from one of amazon's third party sellers, importcds.

Late to the ballgame, but Amy Winehouse "Back to Black", or even the new 2 discs "Frank." I like Lily Allen also, and I just bought Duffy this afternoon. I believe Lily is coming out with a new album this year, so I can't wait for that.

Kate Nash is okay, I have only heard bits of Adele, didn't really care for it. I am listening to the 30 second sampler Nicole Atkins' Neptune City at Amazon, sounds pretty good. Probably my next album to purchase.

Some people say Lily Allen's song sound similar, but I would go and purchase her album. I am partial to Amy Winehouse's and both her "Back to Black" and "Frank" has 2-discs special editions!

They're not from the UK but have you guys heard of Sarah Blasko or A Fine Frenzy? I had never heard of them until I was checking out Sarah McLachlan's biography on Itunes and they were listed as followers. Anyone like them at all?

I really dig A Fine Frenzy. It goes well with the selections you are mentioning.

I almost mentioned A Fine Frenzy in my post, along with a few other non-euro artists but didn't want to get too off topic. Since the subject has broadened...

The Postmarks http://www.myspace.com/thepostmarks

The Postmarks are releasing a free album one song at a time exclusively at eMusic. It's called By the Numbers and a new song is coming out each month this year. This being June, they've released half of the songs so far and all are great (and did I mention free?).

So far the songs are:
One Note Somba (Antonio Carlos Jobim/Frank Sinatra)
You Only Live Twice (Nancy Sinatra)
Three Little Birds (Bob Marley)
OX4 (Ride)
Five Years (David Bowie)
Six Different Ways (The Cure)

I can't wait for the next six songs. Check it out.

Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings blow all these gals out of the retro soul water.

I like Winehouse. Some of Duffy's tunes are good ("Rockferry").

feel free to make any other suggestions you want. I didn't check out the videos yet but I will. I actually found the Australian 2004 version of Sarah's Overture & Underscore and the Australian 2003 EP Prelusive on amazon.co.uk. I haven't heard anything from her new album though.

That was an attempt at civility. With that attitude, I can see you are likely no one's buddy, and don't even understand the concept.

I was going to mention Sharon Jones but thought the OP wated british acts. But yes! She and the Dap Kings are incredibly good!

Whoever suggested A Fine Frenzy (dolphinboy?) was right on! It is easily my most played CD as of late along with Duffy.
