auto's Album by Album Thread #1 featuring: U2

What a truly awful album. When "Vertigo" came out, it sounded like the Edge forgot what a good guitar riff was, and Bono was too busy helping out starving African kids to actually sing, and the whole thing was what a bad U2 cover band might make if they tried to write an original song.
And that was the highlight of the album. I honestly can't believe this is the same band that recorded War, The Joshua Tree, and Achtung Baby. It's honestly one of the worst albums I've ever heard by a high profile artist. Talk about a complete artistic backslide.

I've listened to HtDaAB a couple times, and for the life of me, I cannot recall a single song from the album other than Vertigo, and I'm having trouble remembering how that one goes right now.

.I've got to agree with the consensus here. After passing on ATYCLB, I picked up this album hoping for the best even though I didn't care for Vertigo. Unfortunately it is probably one of the better songs on the album. Poor songwriting throughout and not really a keeper in the bunch. I've probably listened to the album a few dozen times and I just cannot get into it.
On a side note, thanks to all who participated in this thread. I really enjoyed reading everyone's comments and I'll start a new thread with a different band after my honeymoon later this month. Also, I'll revisit this one when the new U2 is released.
