UFO - Strangers in the Night - It's generally regarded as one of the best live albums of all time for a reason.
You also can't go wrong with:
Cheap Trick - Live at Budokan
Peter Frampton - Frampton Comes Alive
Iron Maiden - Live after Death

Underworld's "Everything Everything" and especially Kraftwerk's "Minimum-Maximum" are absolutely essential.
The Bjork Livebox is also a great listen, but if you don't have the money for the whole thing right away, "Homogenic Live" is the standout disc for me. I've always been annoyed that they cut up the Shepherd's Bush show so bad for the "Post Live" disc, so I have a hard time reccomending that one over the live DVD from the same show, which is amazing.

Warren Zevon - 'Learning To flinch'... probably my all time favorite live album...
The Ramones - 'It's Alive'... this is the only Ramones for me... they never matched this for the rest of it... one of the best live things ever... only recently released on CD...
KISS - 'Alive!'...
Simon and Garfunkel - 'The Concert In Central Park'...
The Band - 'the Last Waltz'... the stuff live is about...
Pink Floyd - 'Is There anybody Out There?'... recorded live on 'The Wall' tour in 1980-81... outstanding...
John Lee Hooker - 'The Cream'... amazing... he was never better than this on anything...
Miles Davis - 'Highlights From The Plugged Nickel'... really special... 'Stella by Starlight', 'Yesterdays'...
The Clash - 'From Here To Eternity Live'... what a recording... awesome... 'Guns Of Brixton'...
Pat Martino - 'Live'... pat is my pick for the best guitar player i've ever heard...
Van Morrison - 'It's Too Late to Stop Now'...
U2 - 'Rattle & Hum'...
James Marshal Hendrix - 'Live At Winterland'... his best recording...
David Gray - 'Live In Slow motion'... a DVD but it's amazing... fingers on your hand is the number of artists on that level today...
i second Bob Segar's two live albums... they are all i own now...
i second Neil Young - 'Live Rust'...
i saw Cheap Trick live 3 times at their prime... 'Live At Budokan' is an all time classic...
i second 'Peter Frampton Comes Alive'... have to mention that...
