Wire "Read and Burn 03" out now

Any Wire fans on the board? Their new EP just came out and its really excellent. For anyone that got the first two "Read and Burns" or the "Send" LP that featured most of those songs, the new stuff is more melodic and less aggressive, although still rockin' (especially for guys in their 50's-60's). You can get it from their website pinkflag.com. I got mine off Amazon marketplace.

Oh, shit. Thanks for letting me know! Any deals for getting it through their website? When I ordered Send through them I got a live show that wasn't released anywhere else.

Nothing that I saw. I remember when I ordered one of the Read and Burns, I got a cotton disc saturated with a perfume that I think Colin Newman released.

Awesome, thanks for the heads-up! Don't see too many other Wire fans around. I'll check it out, 'Send' was awesome, but that's been a while now.

I was more of a fan of their 2nd comeback in the late 80's (not Manscape...ick), than the newer material. But, of course, neither return touches those first two albums.

I thought Read and Burn 1 and 2 were up there with their best work.

I was prepared to think the same thing when I was reading about the recordings, but they didn't grab me like I had hoped. Certainly good music for a bunch of old farts

Pink Flag is probably my fave punk album of all time.

I'm really a fan of the first 3 albums. And when I say fan, I mean FAN. I checked out some of the stuff on the A-List album and it didn't do much for me at all. I haven't heard anything post A-List stuff so I can't judge it.

154 is definately my favorite album of the 3 and also one of my favorites of all time.

The opening track of 154 is maybe the best thing Wire ever did.

Chairs Missing > Pink Flag > 154 but they are all awesome.

Map Ref 41 N. 93 W is the best thing they've ever recorded.
