Also, where the fuck is the solo? I'm somewhat surprised that half of those kids know who pantera is? btw, the guy singing is from every time i die.

I don't see a problem with it. If it was the other way around, maybe.

fave quote
that i don't even know where to start.

surely this is a harbinger of the end of the world.

no one wearing an emo hoodie should be allowed to play a pantera song.

no one currently dating one of the simpson sisters should be allowed to play a pantera song.

no one who knows what a chi is (and owns one) should be allowed to play a pantera song.

for that matter, no one matching the above criteria should theoretically even know who the fuck pantera WAS....which is the truly bizzarre thing.

how on earth did this abomination occur???? seriously, WTF.

if nothing else, i suppose FOB found out what it feels like to be a real band for maybe three minutes. (minus the guitar solo of course)

i'll wait for hellyeah's cover of "sugar we're goin' down" with baited breath.....not really

Fall Out Boy. Wow, what a band (sarcasm).

Maybe if one of their members stopped applying eyeliner and lipstick and concentrated on writing some good songs, they wouldn't be as c*appy as they've turned out.

Shouldn't this be in that pretentious bands thread?

Their older stuff is actually pretty tollerable. Still pretty winny sounding, but there's more of a faster sound, a lot less poppy and mainstreme like their newer stuff.

i enjoy fob and pantera personally, i find being a music snob is a waste of time and would otherwise not expose me to a variety of different stuff i might otherwise ignore in fear of being bashed by others.

they do a decent job on this song, not amazing but fun.

I concur. The cover sounds decent, and the crowd sounds like they had a good time. Seems cool to me.

I'm tempted to take pics of the FOB concert tonight in Long Beach, CA and to post them all over Music talk.

I'm with db27 - I have to much in life to think about besides crapping on music you don't like. If you don't like it, just keep it to yourself.

I don't either. I'm hardly a Fall Out Boy fan, but they're certainly a better band than Pantera.

That's true, but it's a little like saying that bowl of horse shit is bad, but it's not as bad as that bowl of horse shit over there.

Fall Out Boy isn't that good of a band, they definately suffer from "a few good songs and a lot of other songs that suck" on an album syndrome, but I think people take their hatred of them a little too far. It's true that Pete Wentz has gotten annoying with his obsession with subscribing to a fashion trend (it wasn't long ago when he had short hair and didn't wear makeup), but it's hardly like it's Miley Cyrus or the cast of High School Musical covering a Pantera song. FOB actually have some really heavy instrumental spots on their album where they rock out. Of course metalheads love to rip on anything that rocks but isn't classified as hard rock/heavy metal, I remember metalheads who were obsessed with ripping on Nirvana and co. a decade ago

I listen to Fall Out Boy sometimes. I listen to Pantera sometimes. I enjoy FOB. I have no idea what you're basing that statement on.

I have no problem with FOB covering the song like they did. At least they didn't try and emo it up. Also thanks for not butchering a solo

Hell the die hard metal fans seem to bash anything thats not celphalic carnage, cannibal corpse, morbid angel, or any band like that. Just mentioning bands like Atreyu, Him, Bullet For My Vallentine ect, and watch them flip the fuck out (all bands outside of him, i actually like and support.)
And wow, there are actually pantera bashers on this forum.

Blabbermouth posters are a joke. So much posturing and immaturity, it frightens me. It's a good place for metal news, though.

I like Pantera. Fall Out Boy, not so much. I've heard worse covers.

Exactly. I mean, this is Pantera we're talking about. What next, someone's mad that Panic! At the Disco did a bad Sepultura cover?
