Every year (except 1) Kevin & Bean from KROQ have done a Christmas CD. I have all kinds of humerous christmas songs & sketches. One of my favorites is Bobcat Goldthwaith (sp?) doing "Twas the night before Christmas".

I've started a music blog to post Christmas MP3s. The wide majority of them will be off the beaten path Christmas songs that probably don't get much exposure.

Keeping it nontraditional but still sincere, I recommend Sufjan Stephens' Christmas songs, of which he about, oh, one million. I like "C'mon! Let's Boogie To The Elf Dance" a lot.

I liked Danielson Family and I like Sufjan Stephens, but people are so quick to point to his music as examples of non standard Christmas songs that they are fast becoming standards.

And I don't think Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses is "non standard" any more either.

Once some of these songs get so over exposed and posted on so many blogs online, they just lose some meaning of being unique and non standard over time.

calhoun07 - great blog. That Max Headroom song takes me back. The track was new to me, actually, but I used to dig the guy back in the day.

This weekend I stumbled upon another obscure Christmas music blog: FaLaLaLaLa. The site offers songs and full abums.
