There's difference between "having a couple drinks" and being completely wasted though.

I have quite a few Foo Fighter live shows on audio and video and nothing suggests to me that he was "wasted" on any of the shows.

I got to see them in Birmingham on the 19th, great show. Sounded like Grohl had a cold though.

I am stoked, I am going to the March 2nd show in Az. This is my first FF concert...so I can't wait! I wanted to see Nirvana when they did the state fair circuit YEARS ago, before they hit it big, and of course Cobain offed himself, but never got around it...Definitely kicking myself for that...Who's gone so far to the concert...How is the opening band? I heard it's supposed to be Serg ? from System of a Down, and Against Me. Any answers appreciated, thanks.

When I saw them it was Against me (who were terrible), and Jimmy Eat World (who were great).

Yeah but you can be wasted and still play very well. Pretty much all musicians do it. The act of playing the music is second nature to them so they can get wasted and still play and you'd never know the difference.

I guess its not alcoholism if you're a rock star. ;)

Regardless. The Fighters of Foo are definately in my playlist although I usually don;t go out and buy their newest CD when it comes out. I usually pick them up when I find them used and I have yet to be disappointed. Can;t say that about MOST if not ALL of the bands out their. They aren't a ground breaking band but then again they'll be here years after all of the "ground breaking" bands have come and gone.

My Hero should not be played acoustically at a Foo Fighters concert.

The Foos are an impressive live band. I've seen them once in 2005, when they were touring with Weezer. Their live set then was a mix of newer material off In Your Honor and their previous albums, unlike Weezer's set where 80% of their set was from the Blue Album and Pinkerton.

I was shocked with Echoes got nominated from album of the year. I have thought that One by One was their last studio album that you could listen to without skipping through more than one in a row. Most of their albums have significant amounts of filler material, especially the last two.

Ah, I think it would work. The version they played on Howard Stern (I believe it was the first time they did it acoustically anywhere) was amazing.

I also would prefer to hear "Times Like These" in the acoustic set. Sounds amazing. (for an acoustic song).

It's not that they can't do it or that it doesn't sound good. It's that it is one of their most kick-ass hard rock songs and it shouldn't be used up during the acoustic portion but instead used to blow the audience away in it's original form.

I just heard a live performance of Everlong on Stern the other day (I'm not sure when it was recorded, it was during the replay right before his show starts), I'd forgotten how much I like them....I remember that it was their cover of Baker Street that got me listening to them, very cool

The Foo Fighters are one of my favorite bands and have been since their existence~!

I'm proud to say I've been a fan since the beginning with the debut album and have been folllowing them since the beginning~

I've been to many many live shows and never been dissappointed; even when the foo fighters weren't the headline attraction--they absolutely rocked whatever venue they were contained in -- leaving the audience, almost forgetting about the "headline" acts that followed...

I've been to countless foo shows and have never once left dissappointed~which is quite a feat~~Foo Fighters are one of the few bands that I feel that I could see every show in a tour and not ever become bored~ David Grohl feeds off
the energy and he never seems bored or disenchanted during any show of even an extensive tour...!

I've had some of my favorite concerts moments at Foo shows--and here
are a couple:

01. During a festival show -- the Foos came on absolutely drunk; during the height of the Backstreet Boys--and did their own version of "Larger than Life"

02. The MTV $2 Bill show -- a completely amazing performance in a intimate venue~The Electric Factory~they did a 9:00 rendition of "Aurora" from Nothing Left To Lose

03. Acoustic tour -- hearing the explanations of the song; beautiful and intimate venue; seeing Pat back and Petra..unbelievable..."February Stars"
is beautiful---I couldn't believe they hadn't forgotten about it and included in the set list

04. Favorite moment! During a Red Hot Chili Peppers/ Foo Fighters tour-- Dave came out to crowd singing a track---and I walked up to him--and he made this expression of horror at seeing my Woodstock99 Chili Peppers Shirt--I turned behind me and grabbed my newly purchased Foo shirt and quickly put it on over the RHCP shirt--he smiled and laughed and gave me a shake of a hand and a quick MAN hug--it was hilarious and absolutely awesome

I love Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters--Dave seems like one of the nicest, most down-to-earth celebrities around~and while I kinda miss seeing them
in the smaller venues--I'm glad their talent is being appreciated~

Additionally, they have tons of excellent B-sides/cover songs released through foreign singles, exclusive online tracks, etc ---

off the top of my head---

"Life of Illusion", "Walking A Line", "Normal", "The Sign", "Darling Nikki",
"Danny Says", "Baker Street", "Fraternity", and a solo track that David Grohl
did for the Touch soundtrack -- "How Do You Do"

there's also an acoustic AT&T performance that used to be online that is worth tracking down if you're a fan---it's a bit dated---it was around the
Nothing to Lose record; regardless, a stunning peformance...
