Excellent. Now give us War, The Unforgettable Fire, Achtung Baby, and Zooropa.

Well, just for the full quality non-released tracks it will be worth it:
10. Beautiful Ghost / Introduction To Songs Of Experience 11. Wave Of Sorrow (Birdland) 12. Desert Of Our Love 13. Rise Up 14. Drunk Chicken / America But the big news here is: Red Hill Mining Town Video.

Sounds awesome. Hope it's not too expensive.
What's "Outside It's America"? A video or a mini-documentary? |

Even though I don't like U2 even a fraction of as much as I used to, I'll be getting this.

I'd like to be able to hear the beginning of "Exit." I have the MFSL CD, and the album sounds wonderful. I'll be interested to hear the difference.

U2 fans are plenty excited concerning the upcoming 20th Anniversary Remasters of The Joshua Tree. As stated in previous posts, the album will be reissued in various forms. The standard 1CD version will be released as a remaster in a standard jewel casing and including a 24-page booklet. The Deluxe Edition version will contain an extra CD of rare b-sides, alternate versions, and rarities, as well as the unreleased The Joshua Tree demos. The 2CD version will be hard-backed with the same 24-page booklet but bound. The 2CDs will be slipped into pockets inside the book. The SuperDuper version is the Limited Edition Super Deluxe Box that contains the 2CDs and adds a DVD. It will be a collectible Box set with a base and lid that will hold the discs in three gatefold jackets, along with a folder that holds 5 prints and a bound book. The DVD features a concert from 1987 that will be mixed in 5.1 Surround sound (DTS, DD for Stereo), plus a documentary, some never-before seen (by us, anyway) footage, and other goodies. Finally, the album will also be presented in a 2LP 180-gram vinyl set, sleeved in a gatefold jacket. Now this is what I call desirable. This should be replicated throughout the industry for all of the albums that we hold dear including other U2 titles. This is expected next month on November 20 and should make excellent Christmas gifts for those U2 fans that you know about.

the first U2 record was released over 27 years ago. |
The Joshua Tree 2CD/1 DVD (Limited Edition Super Deluxe) has pre order price at amazon at $47.99, while the 2 cd deluxe edition at 26.99. Price is quite high don't you think?

That is too high when the new material is only half a disc of music and a live dvd.
|
For some reason, amazon rarely gives a good discount for music CDs - but yeah, that's still a very high MSRP, especially for something that's basically a double-dip on a product that has already made a lot of money.
But does the greed of the music industry really surprise anyone anymore? |
a little bird told me there's a 50% off bn.com coupon floating around the "hot deals" forum...

I'd get the normal 2CD if it didn't have the stupid hardbound book. Same with the 2CD/1DVD with the cardboard sleeves. Neither protect the disc at all.

2CD/1DVD Deluxe version... |
I want music and video content, not a goddam coffee table book. This is going to be prohibitively expensive. Shame, since if it were a reasonably priced collection, I'd certainly buy it.
