I think if you don't like Kid A, Amnesiac, or Hail to the Thief, you shouldn't "buy" this album. You'll be disappointed.

I just don't understand how a band with THREE guitarists went to zero.

It is nothing special. Sounds like the same old shit. Hail To The Thief was considerably better than this one. That said, Jigsaw Falling Into Place and Bodysnatchers stand out. The rest are kinda boring and have "been there, done that" feel to them.

Wow, any positive comments on the album? heh
Personally I'm a huge fan and I've loved every single album. Sure guitar riffs would be nice but that's just not what they're about now.
I even loved Thom Yorke's solo album. I'm a huge fan of his voice so i guess that helps. So far I've only listened to the entire album once and i can say that i like what i hear.
But yeah if you expect new Radiohead albums to be guitar driven like The Bends or even OK Computer then you just don't know Radiohead.
In Rainbows is definitely not for the casual listener that's for sure!

I am really frustrated with this album. It has its brilliant moments, don't get me wrong, but it has the "its been done before" feel to it. Radiohead have hardly changed their sound since Kid A and I think its time for the "incredible evolving band" to start evolving again. They need to move on now. Kid A was an outstanding album. My personal Radiohead favourite. Since then, their three other albums have sounded like B-Sides of Kid A. Similar style, lower quality. Don’t get me wrong, they are still decent albums, but nowhere near my expectations after two masterpieces, OK Computer and Kid A. So basically, Radiohead needs to raise their game or stay home. For the record, how I’d rank their albums; (still need to give In Rainbows way more plays)
1. Kid A (2000)
2. OK Computer (1997)
3. Hail to the Thief (2003)
4. The Bends (1995)
5. Amnesiac (2001)
6. In Rainbows (2007)
7. Pablo Honey (1993)

3. Hail to the Thief (2003)

5. Amnesiac (2001)
6. In Rainbows (2007)
7. Pablo Honey (1993)

ooh ooh - I wanna rank 'em too!
1. Bends / OkComp (tie)
2. Kid A
3. Hail
4. Rainbows (so far...)
huge gap
5. Pablo
bigger gap
6. Amnesiac - which to me is just left over tracks that weren't good enough for Kid A.

the songs on this album aren't bad by any means. they're all solid & undeniably radiohead. it's just that by now, i really need something to stand out if i'm going to want to listen to it.
also, i think the last 3 albums have sounded like b-sides collections. they lost all cohesiveness after kid a.
"all i need" is the one song on here that will get repeated listens for me.

Anybody who has posted a review after one listen should be disregarded. Go listen to Britney Spears or some other disposable pop crap.
Radiohead albums need to be listened to all the way through, preferably loud and in the dark and you shouldnt even think about posting any meaningfully negative album review until you've listened to it for a few days.
For those dilletantes who feel they must share their unjustified negative opinions, I believe J.lo has a new album out worthy of your audiophile skills....
