I like it.

I'm glad he ditched that horrible sound he had with "Machina".

He also cranked the whine down to a earlier, tolerable level.

It's coming out on 7/10/07 now. And I really think this new song is great.

I'm liking this new song. I have a good feeling about this album. Corgan seems like he is eager to please his core base of fans with this one.

As we wait for the new album, The Rarities and B-Sides compilation that is on I-Tunes dropped in price. It was over $100 now it is $9.99. I know a lot of it isn't really that rare but for $10 it's a pretty cool deal.

Tarantula does rock and I can't wait to hear the rest!!!

$100 for MP3's?

Drop a Ben Franklin and get nothing physical to show for it?

There had best be some seriously ultra super "even Billy doesn't own this" rare stuff in that.

A lot of it was B-Side compilations that had already been released on CD. The biggest part of it was it had all the tracks from The Aeroplane Flies High. It went out of print a while ago, so this would be the only way to get it.

I already have a lot of the tracks, but at $10 I'll sift through it.

Apparently the first concert went off the other days. My friend who frequents SP boards heard from some who attended saying it was really good and the "fill-ins" were good.

Word on the street is that the setlist was:

United States (new song)
Today
Stand Inside Your Love
Orchid (new song)
Doomsday Clock (new song)
Home
Hummer
Starz (new song)
Tarantula (new song)
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Gossamer (new song)
God and Country (new song)
33
Rocket
Winterlong
To Sheila
Glass and the Ghost Children
Cherub Rock
1979
Tonight
Neverlost (new song)
That's the Way (new song)
Disarm
Zero
Untitled
Shame
Silverfuck
Annie Dog
Muzzle

I've got over half of those 114 songs, including most of what I would call the "important" stuff (like the Aeroplane box set). Still, for $9.99 I will get it just for the sake of being a completist. It sure is a hell of a deal for anyone who doesn't have much of that stuff...

And that set list looks pretty damn good. "Hummer", "Rocket", most of the hits, 9 new songs, closing with "Muzzle", hells yes... Too bad they don't have anything scheduled for Chicago yet. But I'm eagerly looking forward to their (hopefully) triumphant return!

From Pitchforkmedia.com:

"For the Paris show, the Pumpkins' live lineup consisted of bassist Ginger Reyes (The Halo Friendlies), guitarist Jeff Schroeder (The Lassie Foundation), and keyboardist Lisa Harriton."

Looks like the no D'Arcy situation is official.

I love how the intro music is from from Suspiria the movie if I'm not mistaken. Nice.

With the chick singing in the stands most of these are pretty brutal to listen to.

This is a GREAT deal, even if you only need a handful of the 114 or so tracks. 9.99 is a freaking steal for all of those songs. I've got more than half of them on CD, but I'm still going to buy this.

I'm also looking forward to the new album. I loved Zwan, and was a hardcore fan of Gish/Siamese Dream - I saw them five times in 1993/4.

Oh yeah, those songs. Yeah I own most of that stuff on CD and have found some of it online. "Aeroplane Flies High" was worth it for the Zero single alone.
