Agreed. This would sell . . . very well.

Here's the clip of where he flips out a bit upon having monitor problems...
(justfiied, in my opinion - someone wasn't doing their job):
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gGalV-2pmQc&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gGalV-2pmQc&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
There's also an incident at another show (more recent, I believe) where he nearly knocked a stack over on Dave as they left the stage, but I can't remember which show...maybe I'll try to check this evening.

I know for a fact that at the San Diego show, they had a huge widescreen TV on the side of the stage that was playing the show for the roadies that certainly would've made a great DVD.
I'm certain with all the cameras filming for the big screen above the stage have film in them (or hard drives). Would be a waste if they weren't filming the shows. I'm sure Eddie wants the shows documented because his dream of being onstage w/ his son came true.

Because before they weren't old and looking at the real possibility that the end of the band was near.

Eddie Van Halen promises more touring
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Eddie Van Halen is still hot for David Lee Roth.
More than six months after the two former combatants wrapped a successful reunion tour at the helm of their faded rock band Van Halen, some new music and more touring could be in the offing.
Guitarist Van Halen told Rolling Stone he had "a lot of fun" on tour, that singer Roth was "a blast," and he has written "tons of music" for what would be the band's first album in more than a decade.
The rock veterans had been at war since Roth quit the band in 1985 to pursue a solo career, but they declared a ceasefire to kick off a 75-date tour in September 2007. Also along for the trek was Eddie's drummer brother, Alex, and his teen-aged son, Wolfgang, substituting for Michael Anthony on bass.
"We are a band -- it wasn't just a one-off tour we did," Van Halen told the magazine, adding that he planned to meet with Roth this summer to play him demos of new songs.
The band released its last album in 1998, "Van Halen III," its first and only recording with singer Gary Cherone, who filled in for Roth's replacement, Sammy Hagar. The album bombed, Cherone quickly exited, and the band foundered.
A spokeswoman for Roth declined to comment to Reuters on the article, and Van Halen's publicist/fiancee Janie Liszewski, said she had no additional information.

Live shows are never going to sound exactly the same as the studio recordings. And if they did, what would be the point of seeing a live show?

I've been waiting for a new VH album ever since the massive misfire of VHIII came out over ten years ago.
A new album with Roth is just what the doctor ordered! (Somebody get me a doctor!)

And again!
I'd love to hear a new album, but I foresee this project collapsing under an immense amount of infighting and ego.
Van Halen Recording New Album With David Lee Roth
Hard rock legends Van Halen are hard at work on a new album with original vocalist David Lee Roth, according to a statement made late last week by its music publishers. Various reports also suggest the group will hit the road upon the LP's completion sometime next year.
"The band is currently in the studio recording an album with Roth that is due for release in 2011," read an announcement by Warner/Chappell, which announced the Van Halen camp had renewed its longstanding deal. The album with Roth would mark the first time the singer has appeared on a full album of new music with the group since '1984' was released more than a quarter century ago.
Billboard also revealed that Live Nation Promotions Executive Irving Azoff -- who serves as the band's manager -- spoke of the 2011 tour during a conference about concert industry earnings on Aug. 5.
Van Halen's last proper studio album, 'Van Halen III' was recorded in 1998 with Extreme frontman Gary Cherone on vocals. The band and Roth put aside their longstanding differences in 2008 for a successful North American tour.

Re: Van Halen possibly reuniting with Roth again!
New Van Halen cd.....is this going to be another Chinese Democracy??? If so someone get Dr. Pepper on the phone asap!
In all seriousness, it could be ok as long as expectations aren't too high, which of course they will be.

I would have to pass on this unless I found it used for like $5(if it ever comes out)......... I so much more liked Hagar over Roth!

Even with Roth back on, I don't think they could ever get the magic back of those first four albums from the late 70's/early 80's...
