Well, as if the performance wasn't great on its own (and it is), this disc is worth it for the Play At Home special, which is by turns surreal, hilarious, dated, odd, and sometimes even inspired. An unexpected treat.

Great review on the new Siouxie concert on DVD.

I'll be picking this up definetly.

If you are into Siouxsie you might also like Danielle Dax, who is a slightly more obscure 80s diva. Not quite in the same league as Siouxsie (and not nearly as prolific) but definitely in the same gothic neighborhood (there i go mixing my metaphors...).
And The Creatures are a great band, kind of like a stripped down Banshees (which, after all they are ). "Pluto Drive" is my favorite Creatures tune since it has the same feel and vibe as one of my all-time favorite Siouxsie songs, "Slowdive."

Was always more a metal/industrial/hXc fan but I always love Siouxie and the Banshees and the Cure for some reason (of course I was mocked heavily for this at times, lol)... Maybe its time to go back and revisit some of that as its been quite a while since I have.

I don't know how I came across Siouxsie and the Banshees just recently, maybe it was a YouTube recommendation.
I had no idea how much I've been missing, having not listened to them earlier.
So far I like Placebo Effect, Cities in Dust and Dear Prudence. Gonna go all in and just buy all the early albums, minus The Creatures.
Vinyl or CD is the only question.

Her solo album "Mantaray" from 2007 was also quite smashing.

Re: I'm addicted to Siouxsie And The Banshees
I have always been a big fan of Siouxie and the Banshees. I just watched a film called Haunter and the lead character wears a Siouxie and the Banshees t-shirt through almost the entire film. They also play one of my favorite songs The Killing Jar over the end credits.
A recent group I like is a postpunk called Savages..the lead singer's singing definitely reminds me of Siouxie so you may want to check them out.

Not that matters to the sound, but I think it's funny how a lot of Siouxsie & The Banshees promotional materials, photos, etc, look more signature and striking, IMO, than their actual album covers.
