Yeah, I obviously haven't seen it yet, but kinda surprised that this is the one that Funny or Die chose to invest in, assuming they had a choice. I would've expected this one to be animated for sure, if it was made at all.

So far, Al's 1/5 for the videos/songs for me. I'm thinking he should have pooled his resources into just two videos, instead of (ambitiously) going for eight.

"Sports Song" must appeal more to people who *dislike* sports, because as a non-sports guy I think it's hilarious.
The video is pretty average, though.

Yeah, I kept waiting for the "joke" in the Sports Song video and it just...ended. Oh well, there are clunkers on every album.

Haw anyone here heard the darkest Weird Al song, "Those Were The Good Old Days"? For Al, it's pretty fucked up. Even darker than "The Night Santa Went Crazy".

Definitely my least favorite song on the album (I think I mentioned that earlier). I really would have thought this would've been one of the songs to not get a video. It certainly doesn't need one.

From some of the interviews he's done, I get the sense that there wasn't one big pool of resources he's dividing 8 ways. The sites he's partnering with are covering the production costs for their particular video. If he were only doing two videos, the production values probably wouldn't be any different. Someone like Funny or Die is going to spend so much on a video no matter what. You can definitely tell that a lot of these were shot on a shoestring.

That's what I meant in regard to resources... not necessarily the money, but the talent (again, assuming they appeared as a favour to Al...)

I hadn't heard sports song until I saw the video but I didn't think it was a dud. It is poking fun at people who are so over the top with the typical "rah rah" musical interlude. I didn't think it was as lyrically "clever" but then again, neither is Harvey the Wonder Hamster or I Want to be Your Hog, but they are still entertaining.

My favorite part of the Handy video is that Al dressed like Dwayne Schneider. Since I didn't know the original song, I guess that was something for the old people.

You know he was a night time porn star. He wasn't just a handy-man with a stache like that.

Well, I recognized the songs being parodied in Tacky and Word Crimes, Foil was completely new to me however and seems like a boring song either way.
I heard an interview with Al where he was saying he can't get nearly as much funding for videos as he used to, since MTV doesn't play them anymore. He should do a song about MTV's current state.

First World Problems is a good one, one of the better videos. It is going to suck when this is over, something to look forward to every day.

Anyone have a link to the video that works? The video on weirdal.com doesn't load for me (and other people apparently). All the other videos work perfectly fine.
edit: looks like it works for me now.

I think it's supposed to be an exclusive to a site called popcrush. It's hosted on vevo, but I think you can only watch it on popcrush and weirdal.com at the moment. Here's the popcrush link, but it's still hosted at vevo on both sites, so if it didn't work at weirdal.com, it probably won't work here either

Actually popcrush is where I found the working embed, and it still doesn't work on weirdal.com for me. I'm guessing popcrush has it exclusive for the day, then Al's link will work tomorrow.

Hmm. Could be a regional thing?
the popcrush link works for me, so I'm happy.
