Fergie "The Dutchess" thoughts...

I am actually really enjoying the album so far (yeah, i know it comes out tomorrow, but i found it online). Actually "london bridge" is the first song where she raps (she has a great singing voice, she should use it more often.) For those used to the radio version its "oh shit" said over and over instead of "oh snap".
01. Fergalicious (Feat. Will.i.am) 4:52
02. Clumsy 4:01
03. All That I Got (The Make Up Song) (Feat. Will.i.am)4:05
04. London Bridge 4:01
05. Pedestal 3:22
06. Voodoo Doll 4:23
07. Glamorous (Feat. Ludacris) 4:06
08. Here I Come 3:21
09. Velvet 4:53
10. Big Girls Don’t Cry 4:28
11. Mary Jane Shoes (Feat. Rita Marley And The I-Threes)3:55
12. Losing My Ground 4:08
13. Finally 4:53
14. Get Your Hands Up (Feat. The Black Eyed Peas) 3:33 (Bonus Track)
15. Wake Up (Bonus Track) 3:01
16. Paradise (Bonus Track) 7:41

oh and i just looked it up, the 3 bonus tracks are only on the U.K version, so its 28 bucks on amazon.

I really like London Bridge. I still need to dig a bit deeper into the cd.

I really liked the album first listen, standouts included clumsy, london bridge, pedistal, glamourous, big girls don't cry, mary jane's shoes (it acutally breaks into an old school punk rock type song in the middle) and finally which really shows off her singing skills.

For anyone interested in listening to the cd before buying, aolmusic.com has it as one of their free streamed cds this week.

hmm, wonder if those 3 bonus tracks will be added to a future release later (along with a bonus DVD or something). Either that, or perhaps Wal Mart might have the bonus tracks?

"Get Your Hands Up" is available from Best Buy as a digital download.

And iTunes supposedly has two bonus tracks "Paradise" and "Close to You" (which doesn't appear on the UK version apparently, unless it's part of Paradise... that is a longish track) and WAS offering "Wake Up" as an exclusive to those who pre-ordered (probably too late for that now?).

It's too bad they are going this route. "Wake Up" is probably my favorite track on the whole thing.

Also, should say I'm very happily surprised by this. I really liked "London Bridge" but I'm happy that this isn't just hip hop/r&b stuff. Not that I dislike that material... "Fergalicious" and "Get Your Hands Up" are really good tracks, and worlds better IMO than all the 'Laffy Taffy' style stuff that's dominating that scene now.

But the album's real strength is its versatility. It veers into 80s dance style, almost Prince-esque stuff ("Glamorous") to reggae/dancehall influenced tracks to punked up sounds that ironically sound far more genuine than wannabe punkers like Good Charlotte or Ashlee Simpson.

I really like London Bridge and Fergalicious. Fergie gets a bad rap, but I think that she is smokin' and a good singer to boot.

Paradise is actually kinda 2 songs mixed into one (there's like a 1 minute gap at the 4:30 mark. Also, for those of you who have watched any CW promos over the past few weeks/days, "Here I come" track 8 is the theme song they have been using.

I will be sure to check out the rest of the CD as soon as I am finished obsessing over "Mary Jane Shoes." Damn that song is catchy.

yeah, I really like that whole punk rock bit at the end of the song (we'd both be in heaven if that becomes a single/video.

Also for those interested, she's on Letterman tonight (around 12:25 am) and in hd as well.

I finally stopped hitting repeat on the awesome "Mary Jane Shoes" and checked the whole CD out, and I think it is really good. I feared it would just be "London Bridge" and songs that wished they were that fun, but alas, it is a really diverse and totally solid CD. I'm hooked.

I guess I need to start trying to hunt down all these bonus tracks. I hate that. If I buy the CD, I want all the darn songs.

Do you know if these digital downloads can easily be put in iTunes or are they protected from putting them on your iPod?

I was wondering, does anyone else get distortion on "finally". Its mainly when there is a mix between a high note sung, and the string section.
if anyone's interested in the bonus tracks, gimmie an email. I'd post em here, i don't think the mods would be too happy about that.

i was listening to "flight 26" on xm radio during a smoke break from my job (when its almost 90 degree's, a car with an ac helps), anyways, they played a cover of "Baracuda" from Fergie. Its not on the album (unless its apart of the so called 'extended' version of "Finally".) So, if this was made during "the dutchess" sessions, do you think we could eventually see a rerelease with this song, and some of the bonus tracks that were made via various websites/downloads. Also they need to fix "Finally" because there is major distortion throughout the song.
For anyone interested "Big Girls Don't Cry" is the latest single

Baracuda is on Sherk The Third soundtrack.
I'm thinking of picking the CD up so the SE will come out. That's the way it usually goes for me.

I don't think I've heard music this bad since the days of C+C Music Factory. BEP are horrendous cookie-cutter contempo crap and Fergie is the icing on that turd-cake. She's still damn hot, though.

I don't usually like this kind of top 40 pop, but I have to admit I found London Bridge and Fergalicious so damned catchy that I bought them from iTunes. I feel rather ashamed, but what the hell...

I just heard a ringtone by her, that song that i heard songs like pop/techno music.

Is she a pop/techno music artist?

I'm sure she just sings over whatever the latest hip hop beat her producer coughs up.

It's pretty questionable to what extent these pop bimbos play in their own creative process. Probably nil.

She's definitely pop, not techno.
