However; most of HF's songs were instant enjoyments, I can only say that about 3 songs on this one (Sam's Town, Uncle Johnny, When You Were Young). Between them and Keane, Ive been disappointed with the sophmore efforts. Ill give it some more spins before I give a definitive answer on it.

Loving it now after a few listens.
Exitlude sounds like they ripped off Modest Mouse, but I like it

I picked it up tonight and have listened to it twice through. I'm digging it a lot. It definitely sounds like an 80s Springsteen album in many places though--but thats' fine by me.
I'll post some more impressions later when I give it more spins.

I really like the album.
In no particular order, the following tracks are the ones that stand out to me.
My Uncle Johnny
Sam's Town
When We Were Young
Bling
Bones
The River is Wild
And there are no bad songs on the album. I'd probably say as a whole I like it more than Hot Fuss, as the 2nd half of Hot Fuss was pretty bland, while I don't skip any songs on this album.
The best songs on this album are probably not as good as the best on HF, but as an album it is more complete IMO.

After multiple listens throw me in the minority that likes this more than Hot Fuss. To me, there isn't a single song that is second tier on here.

As for that RS review, their reviewers haven't done anything to garner my respect inawhile. Maybe when they stop putting kfed and timberlake on their covers they will be relevant again.

Been meaning to pick this one up, as I really, really liked Hot Fuss. Maybe tonight.

saw the show at the warfield in SF on monday night, am in phoenix now, have to say I loved it, sound was off, or maybe that was just me.
And I am in the camp that likes album 2 better...
There's only 1 song I don't love.. that's for reasons unknown.

After a few more listens, it would've made for a killer EP if the disc just included:
Sam's Town
Enterlude
When You Were Young
Bling
Bones
Why Do I Keep Counting
Exitlude
However, the rest of the tracks, despite multiple listens, are still filler.
