big smiths fan here...they had some bad songs...EVERY band with a few cd's has had a bad song.

i do agree they were consistant though.

It's sometimes so hard to be objective when you're anlyzing your favorite bands! The stuff that we love from them tends to overshadow the stuff that we'd just as soon as forget. I know I keep going back to Queen, but I think about "Hammer to Fall" a lot more often then I recoil from "Fun It."

How much material did SRV put out in his career? I know he was taken early (although I guess everyone pretty much feels that way when it's their time!), but did he have a substantial catalog?

and if you count the album he did with his brother. Forget the name of it, but it is real good. I think it is called "Family Affair", or "family ties", or "Full House". Something like that.

The original poster said 3 or more albums I think. It is a shame he died when he did because he was only getting better. He had gotten himself clean and sober and his last albums were very solid and he was playing better than ever.

Add me to the group who says U2; I own over 100 U2 and U2-related CDs (including singles, imports, bootlegs, etc.) and honestly feel that they've never even made an unlistenable track. The worst U2 song I've ever heard (well, actually it's a Passengers song [U2 with Brian Eno], so same thing) is "Ito Okashi", and even it is listenable (just not very often ). Just an amazing, astounding career those guys have...

I'm pretty sure U2 has been mentioned earlier in this thread. They're one of the few bands that's had multiple mentions.

...as a fan of hair metal, I want to actually embrace the addition of Warrant, but I personally cannot sanction it based on one HORRIBLE rendition of Queen's "We Will Rock You." What were they thinking?

Ultraphobic was pretty lame, too. And they have a covers album that's just a cash-in.

...but, I'm sure that this is a just a joke...(sigh)...a Beavis and Butthead-like bashing of all things spandex. There were some GREAT hair bands, and I say it with pride!
