I have over 1000 CD's and I just had to buy another version of Ray of Light today. It's only happened once before for me with Erotica.

Anyone else?
I keep everything in perfect condition, but after about a year or two my copy of Erotica started skipping (mostly around the song Words and on). I've also heard, over the years, Madonna fans mentioning replacing their skipping copy. My 2nd copy seems fine. When I saw this thread I knew someone would mention Erotica.

I use them on my video games. I tried with CDs but they don't want to eject from my car stereo with a D-skin on. Works fine in my wife's car stereo though. I'd say they are pricey to use on CDs, especially with lower cost backup options, but for a $50 game, a $1 more investment is worth it.

I've had to replace a few discs, mostly due to a leather sun visor holder for the car. Apparently the cloth only went so far back in the case so that half the CD was sitting against the leather. Right where the seam of leather and cloth met, it warped the cds, put a white line from edge to edge, totally screwing the entire disc. Had this happen to a dozen or so discs, rendering them unplayable.

only if I have lost them:

Boo Radley's - 'Kingsize' (the expanded 15-track US edition) bought it from Amazon marketplace, found out it was the 14 track UK edition (the seller sold me the wrong edition), needless to say I was a bit miffed. Then proceeded to refind my lost copy.

Shooting Fish - in a 'mild case of] rage, I threw the CD, it got all scoffed and unplayable, had to rebuy it.

Linda Ronstadt 'Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the Wind' - in the process of trying to find said lost copy, think I might have to get a new copy, since I play this album to death.

missing discs, somewhere in the confines of my home
- The Cribs
- Echo and the Bunnymen - Siberia
- Coldplay - Blue Room EP

No I have not.

But I did have to buy a cd again because my Sony Walkman player was stolen with the cd. So now I have doubles on the cover art.
