for me, the difference between the delux and regular was 5$ (can)...
to get a nicer packaging, two guitar pick and 2 well recorded CD to put in the 2ch set up when I don't want to go all around a DVD...
that was worth the investment!...

I gotta have the CD's. I've been listening to live RUSH CD's in my car a lot over the last few months.

Of all the Concert DVD's I've purchased I do believe R30 is by far the best sounding 5.1 I've heard. In fact, the 1st time i put it in I automatically chose PCM out of habit. But just for laughs I switched to 5.1 and I couldn't believe how good it sounded. It was mixed well and nothing sounded out of whack.
BTW, will RUSH be releasing a cd set of this show or will the cd's only be available with the deluxe set? Sorry if this has been answered already but I don't feel like reading through this thread again.
One thing I liked, but still felt they could've added more of, was the concert background videos. I'm a huge fan of RUSH's Video screen images during the shows and although they did show the opening Intro on the dvd, it woulda been way cool for them to pput it on the video.
I wouldn't mind seeing an "Extras" section with nothing but background videos.

What's with the audio glitches in Roll The Bones? Sounds like the Tom Sawyer analog sweep keeps getting triggeres at odd times through the song....

It must have got triggered like 20 times, I thought it was part of Roll the Bones but now that you say this... Geddy must just be shaking his head.

I think I may have lucked out.
DDD had their prices mixed up on this thing this morning. The 2-DVD version was listed at $30.47 and the DELUXE one was $19.31!! So I ordered the DELUXE one.
I just checked on things and the prices are now reversed to where they should be, but my order still shows I'm getting the DELUXE for the cheaper price.
I wonder if my order made them catch the mistake.

Bump due to Best Buy flyer this week.
R30 two DVD set for 17.99. I passed as I hadn't heard about the quality, but may go back and pick this up based on this thread. Thought others might wanna read it to.

"Alex Lifeson has made [the DVD reissues] his personal project. Some of it will be the recordings we just discussed, but we have other things in the vault as well, such as a concert that we recorded on the Test For Echo tour, with which we weren't satisfied at the time, but that's been replaced by its historical value...The lion's share will come out in 2006...Some of the songs were dropped from R30 due to technical reasons but also we didn't want to have too many similarities with Rush In Rio. Why not? Well, I think now that it was a dumb decision of ours. In fact I regret not having put the whole show on those disks. But I promise you, all those songs that were cut will eventually see the light of day, in some shape or form." - Geddy Lee, Aardschok Magazine, March 2006

Weak shit re: the R30 unreleased tracks. What are they going to do, mix it in with the rest of the show and re-release it causing fans to double dip? The other option is releasing them separately and that is weak as well. Who wants a few songs out of context of the entire show? They should have just done it right the first time.
