huh? So you're telling me they couldn't just take the same songs from another show on the tour and mix them in? No one would ever know the difference.

I'm pumped for this even though they took out some of the best songs, I can't wait to see Jerry Stiller and That darned dragon.
Here is another good article on the DVD:

And apparently Rush in Rio went 5x platinum... So I think we can expect DVD's from every tour.

Here is some info on Neil's new DVD:
COMING DECEMBER 15, 2005
“ANATOMY OF A DRUM SOLO” by Neil Peart
Anatomy of a Drum Solo presents newly-recorded, in-studio footage of Neil discussing, in detail, his approach to soloing. Using a solo recorded in September, 2004 in Frankfurt, Germany, as a framework, Neil talks about each segment of this nine-minute tour de force that is a feature of each Rush performance. He describes the inspiration and the conceptual thinking behind each part of the solo and discusses, and often demonstrates, the technique necessary for playing that segment.
Also included are two “explorations” -- completely improvised workouts at the drums, each over thirty-minutes long; a never-before-released solo recorded in Hamburg, Germany in September, 2004 ("Ich Bin Ein Hamburger"); “O Baterista”, Neil's Grammy(r) Award-nominated solo (previously released on the Rush in Rio DVD); two full Rush performances from Frankfurt ’04, all shot from the perspective of the drum cameras; interviews with Lorne Wheaton, Neil’s drum tech, and Paul Northfield, Rush co-producer and engineer; a full-color booklet, a photo gallery and more.

Watching it now! This is great. Much better than Rio. Awesome picture and sound! Crowd noise is very subdued this time.
I just noticed the layer switch is right in the middle of Alex's solo during Dreamline. Why didn't they put it between songs?!?!
What the heck is that rotating thing behind Geddy next to the clothes dryers?

I just bought it today too. I haven't watched it yet, but I'm listening to the CDs now and they sound good. I like how you can take the CD package out and bring it in the car easily. It's a nice looking set!

Yeah, this is a great set - the ultimate fan package, it's got everything and its all done really well.
Though I'd like to give a good cock-punching to whoever packaged the one I bought, as the flaps on the inside were all torn up by carelessly jamming the cd, picks and booklet into it far too forceably. I'd like to exchange it, but the discs are fine, so I'd feel like a tool doing so...

I agree with Tenacious D- I'd immediately be bringing the set back for a new one... you're not only paying for the discs, you're also paying for the packaging!

Other than the strangely placed layer switch, this is an awesome set! This small problem shouldn't discourage anyone from getting it. The guys are in top form here and the audio and video presentation is top notch.

I picked up the delux addition as well, but to be honest, I feel like I should have saved $10 and bought just the DVD. The CDs are just the audio from the DVDs; nothing different. Had I known that ahead of time, I'd skip the delux....
But the DVD is very good! I really like the audio, in comparison to the Rio show...

Found this on another site, I don't know if it works or what they are:
DVD Easter Eggs: There are two eggs. The first is on the opening menu. Just hit the right arrow on your DVD remote about 3 or 4 times. Eventually, the menu will reload with the egg on the bottom as a new option. The second egg is on the "Interviews" menu on the DVD. Again, just hit the right arrow about 3 or 4 times, and the guy with the broom will all of a sudden "highlight." Just click on him, and you have the second egg.

DOH!!! I guess I should read this thread with more attention. I didn't get the deluxe version with CD's.
I gotta have the CD's. I've been listening to live RUSH CD's in my car a lot over the last few months.
