I'll try to stick to the "name only" method - too many of them if you don't. Sorry if I repeat any I may have missed above:

Isobel -- Dido (different song than the Bjork one of the same name)

Rhiannon -- Fleetwood Mac (it's not "Rhianna" as somebody above posted)

Delilah -- Cranberries

Sandy -- Grease soundtrack

Maxine -- Donald Fagen

Rosie -- Jackson Browne

Ruby Ann -- Marty Robbins

Jenny Rebecca -- Olivia Newton-John

Bianca -- (a Cole Porter song)

Jean -- (by many)

Guinevere -- Crosby, Stills, and Nash

"Faith" is good to go.
That's the impression I had. If it had to actually be about a girl, then I would have to take off the Hope's, Summer's, Mary Jane, and several other electronica songs.

OP here!

The thing is, if it was just listing song titles that contained a girl's name, then anyone who gave it some thought would be able to pretty quickly come up with lots and lots of titles.

I figured, making it just titles that are the name would make it a bit more challenging.

Of course, this is not a contest, so there can't be any rules about what the song has to be about, but I would think that if you want there to be any integrity about your listings, you wouldn't go with a song titled "Summer" that is about the season, or a song titled "Charity" that is about the importance of generosity, just because those two words also happen to be girls' names.

Well, I guess "Poet" by Sly & the Family Stone doesn't count then.

Kinda.. I only listed what I own, and so I put it down as Peter Gabriel doing this one.

Hmmm . . . well, in that case, shitcan half of mine. I'm guessing a good chunk are not about an actual girl.

I should ask my Aunt Sussudio. She's really good at this kind of thing.

Nora - Blessid Union of Souls
Jessie - Joshua Kadison

Whatever happened to Kadison anyway? He showed quite a bit of promise then disappeared off the face of the earth.

Jessie is a friend,
I know he's been a good friend of mine
But lately something's changed that ain't hard to define
Jessie's got himself a girl and I want to make her mine

You know, I wish that I had Jessie's girl,
I wish that I had Jessie's girl
Where can I find a woman like that

So, I'm thinking that Jessie is a guy.

I don't know what made me think of this song all of a sudden, but I just remembered a song called "Nicole" by Point Blank.

I think there was a post that mentioned Heaven Is before that one. Maybe it was deleted.

BTW, not once did I ever think "Heaven" was a name of a chick.

Josephine - Tragically Hip
Lola - The Kinks (not sure if this one counts...lol..."well I'm not dumb but I can't understand why she talks like a woman but acts like a man..."
Jenny (867-5309) - Tommy Tutone
Rosanna - Toto
Grace - Jeff Buckley (again, not sure if this one counts, only because the grace Jeff refers to isn't Grace, as in a girl...but "Grace" is a girl's name!)
Edie - The Cult
