Another I need help finding this song thread....

There's some song I used to hear as a kid that I have occasionally heard while being put on hold or in really random circumstances. It's some woman (who I believe is black) and it's sort of an 80s Sade-type song. Her voice is pretty weird, though. Kind of like that "Lovin' You....is easy 'cause you're beautiful...." that era. Anyway the lyrics at some point (before or during the chorus) are :

I want you....so hear me (which appears several times in the song)
and then something like "blame it on..." or "bring it on...."

Anyone know what it is? It's a pretty bad song, I remember, but with the knoweldge that is dvdtalk, I figured someone would know it. Thanks.

The original singer of Lovin' You was Minnie Riperton. She's got a pretty unique voice, so it could be her. I don't recognize the song you mentioned, though.

Fun Fact - Minnie Riperton is Maya Rudolph's (SNL) mother.

Ahhh well, nothing too trivial

bump

I'm still trying to find this one. It's something you'd hear at the dentist on soft rock or something like that. It's been driving me crazy ......still.

Oh my god, after 2 and a half years I think you could have listened to every song ever until you stumbled upon it.

I finally found a song I have been looking for awhile. I heard it again on the radio and I grabbed a correct lyric this time: falling in love would be your mistake. A search led me here and voilą! I found it:

The Babies - Isn't It Time

Re: Another I need help finding this song thread....

time for the annual bump.

the lines I can remember are "I want you....come near me." I love you....please hear me." or something like that. again, it's some 70s/80s song I used to hear at the Dentist or when I'd be stuck in a car listening to adult (crap?) contemporary or whatever. Anyway, this has been driving me nuts for years. Help a brother out.

There's gotta be a lot of sharps in the song or minor chords because that quoted part above sounds all.....tonedeaf almost.

I believe you are loooking for "All This Love" by DeBarge
Lyric - after third stanza
'Darling there is no need to wonder why
I love you - so deeply
As the stars cross there way across the sky
I need you, please hear me
All this love is waiting for you'

Hope this helps,
Ladd

That'd be awesome if that's the song, especially since that's a MAN singing.
