Because when you make fun of people, it makes you badass and cool.

Yet, when Weird Al dared to parody Eminem, he went bezerk. Can dish it out, but can't take it.

REEVE! damnit REEVE!.

He is a two bit hack that couldn't sell an album if he didn't mock somebody. The day the mockery ends, so does the album sales. It is quite funny that he can dish it but can't take it(referring to the Weird Al thing).

but why reeve? its not like he did it once...probably at least 5 songs...once or more on every album. is it because he was disabled?

why not another celebrity - i can name 100 other ones that he could easily make fun of.

Well Stevie Wonder is black. Mother Teresa isn't she dead? I think he disses Christopher Reeve because he was a good guy that was pretty much liked by everyone. Samething with the comment about Sonny Bono in one of his songs. He only goes after white celebrities that everyone loves which is pretty distasteful (except Bush, which showed zero originality on his part in which Em was pretty much used as a puppet by the Dems). Don't worry he won't be dissing Ray Charles anytime, only role models of white suburban America.

Because he feels that Christopher Reeve is profiteering himself. He feels he is using his condition to advance his platform. That's my theory anyway. (BTW - just to be clear I personally don't feel the same way)

Also, as to Corvin's comment, that's just ridiculous. Sounds like someone who hasn't heard anything else but the singles. Em has plenty songs that don't "dis" anyone. He's the preminent rapper on the planet. Why on this album he's chosen to go after so many folks, who knows. I have a theory that he honestly did not want to make another album, at least not right now, and coupled with the fact that his original material was leaked and abandoned, he made something that was intentionally disrespectful and controversal, just to prove a point.

You do know Reeve is dead, right?

Because you gotta go for the cringe laughter. That's the funniest stuff. I know when I want to make someone really laugh, I'll go to the Christopher Reeve or Dale Turnhard jokes.

Some people are just way too sensitive.

Also actually Em from all I have read had no problem with the Weird Al parody and in fact apporved it as long as Weird Al didn't make a video for it.

And what's even more pathetic is that, even at this point in his career, he's not above rehashing moldy old jokes on celebrities who are easy targets. Michael Jackson's hair catching fire...Madonna's cone bra...Pee Wee Herman? Oh right but I guess he's just reviving those jokes for some of his fans who weren't alive the last time they were funny.

The jokes about Christopher Reeve just show what an immature and classless bastard Eminem can be, and I wish he could spend one day paralyzed the way Chris was. I don't get why anyone would just relentlessly mock someone with a disability, treating them like they're some sort of non-human devoid of feelings. I guess the fact that Chris actually tried to stay productive and be positive about his future, despite now not being able to feed himself or even breathe without help, was somehow comedy gold to Eminem (and others). Ha fucking ha. I'm not saying I haven't laughed at a fat joke before, but even then I felt a little guilty, and this is way beyond that. Mocking someone in a situation that is really beyond their ability to change (like a deformity or paralysis) is not and never will be funny to me.

But Eminem's still rolling in the dough, making the little kiddies (and adults?) snicker at his juvenile humor, so of course he's not gonna stop with the pop culture referencing songs. They're easy "surefire hits" to use for each album's first single. He's 32 and will probably still be dissing Moby and Britney Spears when he's 40. I hope he takes a cue from Jay Z and "retires" sooner than later. I'm not saying all his songs dis celebrities, or that he hasn't shown talent at times, but a lot of the stuff he says and does really pisses me off. He tries to act like such a loving dad (which I hope he really is since Kim seems like a crack ho) but there doesn't seem to be any morally devoid topic he isn't above rapping about to make a buck. I liked 8 Mile and more serious songs like "Stan", but recently I've really lost interest and wonder if he didn't peak a few years ago.

let's see if I can explain the difference... Christopher Reeve was a REAL person. The Farrely brothers deal in fiction. And even when they mock a handicap person in the movie, that is an ACTOR, they aren't really handicapped. Psst. Don't tell anyone. Those are movie secrets.

You can save your smugness for another post Mike. Parody is parody, plain and simple. Just because a handicap person is nameless/faceless doesn't make a lick of difference. There are plenty of REAL persons who suffer from the afflictions made fun of by the Farraley brothers. But I suppose when there isn't a face connected with it, it makes it okay. That makes your comments about what Em is doing without merit.

And just because I don't personally agree (let me emphasize that last part very clearly) with some of Em's personal attacks, his point is not often lost. Before he became injured, what exactly did Christopher Reeve do to raise awareness of disadvantaged persons? That's half his point. It doesn't make it right, or make me agree, but it also doesn't make it any less true.
