This is who I thought of when I read the thread title. Not because I agree (personally, they are one of my favorite bands), but because their music invokes such a response, be it positive or negative.

I don't really have an answer. I don't really listen to the radio anymore. I guess I would have to go with U2 or Pink Floyd. I just can't stand music without guitars ;)

Dave Matthews Band - he's a camp counselor with a guitar.

And also most of the groups that performed at MTV VMA's this past year.

Other groups that I don't hate, but I think they are very very over-rated - Pink Floyd, Phish, Coldplay, Incubus.

Sounds to me like you just can't stand music with guitars drenched in a stultifying number of effects.

It's not that I can't stand them, I'm just amazed at how loyal methalheads are to them..Especially after "Silent Lucidity".

I am going to have to put in another vote for the Dave Matthews Band....especially that Blood in the Water song....ughhh

Radiohead (except "Creep")

and especially
Phish - I seriously hate "jam sessions" and crap where people just play out a song for a half hour... probably why I love 2 minute punk songs.

Tool. And I'm not sure why some consider them "progressive". I always thought they sounded like nu-metal with an above average drummer.

Only with those who appreciate great music.

I always dread threads like these because people always come along thinking their opinion is more "right" then others and leave snide remarks like these.

In principle I agree with you completely, but then I start to wonder how someone can like rock and roll and not love Let it Bleed or Exile in Main Street.

Dave Matthews Band for me too. As individual musicians they are great...especially the drummer...but as a band they suck my big fat cock.

Apparently no one really likes Dave Matthews, and his record and concert sales are all a big illusion. ;)

Another vote for Phish.

Wait... nobody here in Europe likes them. Or even knows them. :p

If I don't like the Rolling Stones, then I don't like the Rolling Stones, "plain and simple." It doesn't matter what album(s) you suggest. Why would you presume that I haven't already listened to them? I love music; I grew up with music; I studied music in high school and college; I have an extensive, diverse music collection (cd, cassette and vinyl)...so don't even suggest I don't get rock and roll just because I don't prefer one group, and your opinion differs.
