I'm not a fan of their music, but I'm sure there has been worse than GC. However, I WILL say that they're one of the worst live bands of all time.

Worst band ever? You got to be kidding me. N-Synch is worse. The Backstreet Boys are worse. U2 is worse. Pink Floyd is worse.

At least Good Charlotte have guitars in their band.

Of course in the terms of pop-"punk", they are not as good as their peers (Sum 41, Blink 182, etc...)

oh yeah I'm sure Good Charlotte's guitarist can own all over David Gilmour or The Edge, cause neither Pink Floyd or U2 are known for the guitarists.

This is a joke right? There are no guitars in U2 or Floyd....are you serious? You are comparing GC to them? I have seen it all now.

I really like Blink 182 and Jimmy Eat World. Good Charlotte, however...

While Good Charlotte is near the worst band... New Found Glory beats them out of the spot. I can not stand the lead singers voice, drives me nuts. And someone please tell him he is not Morrissey.

I can't believe this far in an anti-Good Charlotte thread no one has brought up Chris Rock's award show jab yet...

"Good Charlotte? More like mediocre Green Day!"

I think what you folks are failing to realize here is that GC is a "stepping stone" type of band....by that, i mean that for many young people, this is their first exposure to a band that seems "cutting edge", or "Punk". I love Motorhead and Slayer, but grew up listening to Kiss and Cheap Trick, who were my "stepping stone" bands. They may be little more than "boy bands with guitars" (shame on you Steve Jones, with your truly contrived Sex Pistols ... even tho i luv them too), but at least they play and write their own music, and that's a far cry beyond the boy bands i've seen. Give the kids a break....the kid's will be alright (to paraphrase Townsend).

Yeah, U2 and Floyd have guitars, but there's no distortion. And both bands are incredibly boring (in my opinion). Good Charlotte are just boring.

It doesn't matter how many notes you can play in a second, it's how good of a song you can write (Sex Pistols anyone? Nirvana?). With a couple exceptions ("Beautiful Day" and "Another Brick In The Wall"), I think Good Charlotte write better songs than Floyd and U2. Not much better, but overall.

No big deal. Just one guy's opinion.

OMG how dare you insult U2 and Pink Floyd, and btw David Gilmour is one of the best guitar players ever so your post makes absolutely no sense.

Another reason Good Charlotte doesn't totally suck, they show love to Butch Walker. In the song "Boys and Girls" there's many elements of Marvelous 3's (Butch Walker's most successful personal effort) hit "Freak of the Week."

Worst bands: Coheed and Cambria, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, The Starting Line, Linkin Park, Darwin's Waiting Room, Evanescence, Creed (I'm glad they broke up), Alter Bridge (Creed in disguise), and last but not least The White Stripes

How about Yellowcard? They sound as bland as they come, and they've managed to piss me off in not one, but both of their videos. First, a pointless 3 minute rip-off of Run Lola Run, then their next video has the lead singer with a girl on his arm walking past police in riot gear while putting flowers in the guns and finally stopping tanks in the streets ala Tiananmen Square. WTF is that supposed to mean?

Good Charlotte are definitely ONE OF the worst bands out there today, along with The Starting Line, Eve 6, Fenix TX, Lost Prophets, and all the other dime-a-dozen pop-"punk" bands that are shamefully responsible for the watering-down and bastardization of the punk subculture. I think that Simple Plan are probably the worst of the worst though.

And to the guy that said Death Cab sucks, you need to give them another listen. If you've only heard them live, they may have been having an off night, as they are one of the best bands out there today.

I'm just going to ignore the guy that said Floyd sucks.

Holy shit. Have you ever listened to Pink Floyd for more than 5 seconds? Jesus tapdancing Christ. Borrow someone's copy of Animals, listen to Pigs (Three Different Ones) and try to tell me there are no guitars in Floyd.

II think GC's "Young & Hopeless" cd is a lot of fun, but what do I know?

I hate to break it to you, but the "watering-down and bastardization of the punk subculture" began around 1979. When K-Mart starts selling pre-safety-pinned "punk" shirts and skirts, you know it's all over.
