D'oh! I meant to say no offensive . He's acting like AC/DC is this long forgotten band though.

New York Dolls, first album (this band inspired KISS, Motely, GnR, and practically every single band of that genre)
In addition to influencing the glam/metal scene, the Dolls (along with the Stooges, MC5, Velvets) are forefathers of punk. An awesome band, and I wholeheartedly second this suggestion.

I've had the Dolls in heavy rotation lately, along with other 70's cock rockers like Faces, Sticky Fingers/Exile era Stones, Thin Lizzy, and Bon-era ACDC. Any and all of these rock hard.

For more Cult in the vein of Fire Woman, check out the rest of that album, Sonic Temple. The album that preceded it, Electric, is even better in my opinion. Straight ahead, no-nonsense rock and roll.

I have a feeling this guy just wants the major hits.... he should just buy the best of/greatest hits albums for all bands mentioned and be done with it

I recommend staying away from Heart and Elton John.

This is some of my favorite stuff...along with copycats like the early Aerosmith.

Led Zeppelin is a must for any Classic Rock collection. Start with IV and work your way down. Houses Of THe Holy is a great album too.

queensryche: Operation Mindcrime is a must for any serious rocker!!
