Bringing this thread back up... I have an iTunes playlist I call '*' that refers to the unexplainable reasons why a song is "beautiful." Found quite a few from this thread to add. Here are some of mine:

Pete Townshend - "Was There Life"
Sting - "The End of the Game" (full version, not the "Prelude" on Brand New Day)
Peter Gabriel - "The Drop", "Solsbury Hill", "Running to the Rain" (from Rabbit-Proof Fence)
Simon & Garfunkel - "Scarborough Fair/Canticle"
Counting Crows - "Einstein on the Beach (For an Eggman)"
Daniel Powter - "Bad Day" (has potential, need more listens)

I *just* got into Electrelane, and only yesterday dl'd their song "This Deed".
I'll have to check out more , and I'll dl "Gone Under Sea" today if I can find it.

Another song to possibly add to this list is a romantic "Nine Million Bicycles" by Katie Melua.

Listen to "When Will I See You Again?" on there. That's the theme song for a documentary I'm working on about young people who have died in car accidents.

Oh, and I've got another one:

The Perishers - Nothing Like You and I

I first heard this song off the soundtrack to a movie called London. I listened to a few more audio samples from The Perishers album this songs is off of, and I decided to buy it.

Oh, and they're Swedish -- fine purveyors of sweet of music.
