I was watching reruns of Lost and at the end of an episode a song played and I literally cried and it was just about 15-20 seconds.

I looked it up and downloaded the song immediately. While listening to it, I cried again.

I urge you to try and download this song and if you like it get the cd, as I am going to be getting it ASAP.

It is a cover of the same Ben Harper song (and is much better, IMO and I like Harper).

I Shall Not Walk Alone, Blind Boys of Alabama

The performers are gospel oriented so it has the Gospel sound to it by their voices, but that really shouldn't turn you off.

fiver 12-30-04 04:33 AM

Boa - "Duvet" - Amazing song...perhaps my favorite pop song of all time
Badfinger - "Without You", "Day After Day"
Matthew Sweet - "Devil With the Green Eyes"
Marillion - "Afraid of Sunlight" (the whole album is beautiful)
Elton John - "Someone Saved My Life Tonight"
A Perfect Circle - "Orestes"
Michael McDermott - "Moonlight Prayer", "The Idler, the prophet and a girl called rain", "Summer Days", "Bourbon Blue" - Just about any song of his strikes me emotionally at a level few songs ever do.
Queen - "Who Wants To Live Forever", "The Show Must Go On"

Michael

You, sir, rock!

Btw, do you like any of Fish's solo stuff? I know he is in the early era of the band, but I was just wondering.

I am more partial to Brave, myself.

I can take or leave most of Fish's work. Sometimes his sound is great, others he just sounds Phil Collins-lite.

SHADOWX 12-30-04 08:19 AM

I agree with several of the post above... here are a few additional off the top of my head:

"And I Love Her" - The Beatles
"Here, There and Everywhere" - The Beatles
"In the Morning of the Magicians" - The Flaming Lips
"Ave Maria" - Anthony Inglis ( a nice copy can be found on the Cowboy Bebop "Blue" OST)
... I'm sure I'll think of more

I gotta tell the one thing that gets me EVERYTIME is the U2 Performance back in 2002 when the Patriots won their first SuperBowl.

When they do the songs and scroll the 9/11 victims on the screen and Bono puts his hands in the shape of a heart I lose it EVERYTIME!

I bought that DVD just for that performance and Idon't even like the Pats.

But this gets me everytime!

Greg
