Have you guys checked out www.metal-rules.com ? There is info on allot of these bands put up daily. The upcoming release section is done twice a month + there are monthly cd/dvd reviews. Check it out and give some feedback on what you think and what you'd like to see.
tks
The metal-rules best of list for the year has helped me make several kick ass purchases. I also enjoy the manowar flame wars in the forums.

I agree, the 80's were the best for Metal, be it glam, hair, thrash and whatever. I can't stand most of the new (or "nu") stuff with the cookie monster vocal guy and the rap-metal. everything I hear now that they pass off as Metal leaves a nasty grunge aftertaste in my mouth. I watched the Headbangers Balls a couple weeks ago and the only videos I liked were the new Iron Maiden, Fireball Ministry and The Darkness.

Metal Rules! \m/

Anyone into traditional Heavy Metal should check out Firewind. It's "Power Metal" in a Painkiller-era Judas Priest meets Yngwie kind of way. The singer, Stephen Fredrick sounds a lot like Graham Bonnett - only better! I've got their album Between Heaven and Hell and it is really good.

Beyond that plug, I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Heavy Metal and Hard Rock, but I like Godsmack, and the latest Disturbed album is pretty good too.

Oh, if you are a fan of Iron Maiden, Dio, Black Sabbath, etc, you've got to get Armored Saint's Symbol Of Salvation & Revelation CD's. GREAT albums!

The band Brides of Destruction are a great new band in the same vein of classic 80's metal. Check out their first single here....

Anyone heard of "From Autumn to Ashes"? They're on Vagrant records. Their newest album "the Fiction We Live" is awesome.

They are back together without fat Dino. And they added a bassist from SYL.

These are but a few of the reasons I'm so happy with the metal scene these days.
