THE BROADCAST FILM CRITICS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES
THE NOMINEES FOR THE
9TH ANNUAL CRITICS’ CHOICE AWARDS
ERIC McCORMACK TO HOST THE GALA ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 10, 2004
E! ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION WILL TELECAST THE CEREMONY LIVE ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 10, 2004 AT 8:00 PM ET/PT
(Los Angeles, CA – December 16, 2003) – The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) announced the nominees for the 9th annual Critics’ Choice Awards. The 182 members of the BFCA, the largest film critics organization in the United States and Canada, representing television, radio and online critics, selected nominees in each of 16 categories. The winners will be announced at the Critics’ Choice Awards gala on Saturday, January 10, 2004 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The Critics’ Choice Awards were created by the BFCA to recognize excellence in cinematic achievement. Eligible films were released in the 2003 calendar year and are selected by written ballots. The accounting firm of White, Zuckerman, Warsavsky, Luna & Wolf tallied the balloting.
E! Entertainment Television will telecast the ceremony LIVE for the first time on Saturday, January 10th at 8:00 PM ET/PT. “Will and Grace” star Eric McCormack is scheduled to host the 9th annual gala. The Critics’ Choice Awards is the only major movie awards show televised before Oscar ballots are cast.
“Mystic River” received the most nods with eight nominations while “In America” followed closely with seven nominations. Both “Big Fish” and “Lost in Translation” received five nominations, “Cold Mountain” and “Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” received four. Films with three nominations included “The Last Samurai” and “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.”
The Critics’ Choice Awards are the most accurate predictor of the Academy Award nominations.
In the past five years, 94% of Oscar nominees for Best Picture were first Critics’ Choice Award nominees for Best Picture. Last year, 11 of the 13 Critics’ Choice Award actor/actress nominees went on to receive Oscar nominations.
The Broadcast Film Critics Association will host special screenings of its ten Best Picture nominees for the year. The inaugural Critics’ Choice Ten Best Fest will be held at the Pacific Design Center from January 2nd - 8th for an audience of guild members, critics groups and other prominent entertainment industry figures. Each screening will be followed by a Q&A session featuring the stars, directors, writers and producers associated with the nominated films.

If you're a casual fan and don't own them, buy a live CD that has most of the songs you like.

They better pull their heads out because I wouldn't pay $5 for 1 song sang by the almighty himself. With prices like that I would definately start pirating.

Although I believe that the CD also includes a demo of the song, in addition to the regular version. Still, $2.50 / song is a bit much...

So true. They are one of the few that I can whole heartedly admit that I will probably listen to for the rest of their career.
$5.00 for a cd single is a bit steep, but if you like to collect them and what not like I do, then I wouldn't have a problem with it. I've bought singles for much more than 5 dollars before.

To download it, right click save as on the Man of the Hour text in the bottom right corner.
As for the song, it's pretty good, but I wouldn't personally pay $5 for the single as it probably wouldn't make my top 50 list of fave PJ songs.

CREED ANNOUNCE NEW RELEASES PLANNED FOR 2004 FEATURING BOTH NEW CREED MATERIAL AND SOLO PROJECTS FROM STAPP AND TREMONTI
New York --- Creed, who have sold in excess of 23 million albums in the U.S. alone, have announced plans for a number of releases in 2004. A street date before the end of 2004 is in the works for a special package consisting of previous hits, unreleased material, and new Creed compositions the band plans to record in 2004. Additional content culled from collaborations will be considered for this anthology as well. In addition, both Mark Tremonti and Scott Stapp are working on solo projects for release in the next year.
Creed has released three albums to date on Wind-up Records – My Own Prison , Human Clay and Weathered . All have been certified multi-platinum by the RIAA, with Human Clay receiving the distinguished honor of a Diamond Award for sales in excess of ten million copies.
A press release, though I don't know what it has to do with Pearl Jam..
I think it's sad that they'll just be doing a greatest hits, with some unreleased, and some new songs...coming from someone who actually likes them
I'm happier though, that there will be a new U2 CD..hopefully it will be better than their recent one..
