STP greatest hits to include bonus DVD

From Billboard.com

A special edition of Stone Temple Pilots' upcoming Atlantic best-of set, "Thank You," will include a DVD packed with three hours of videos, live performances and footage of the band shot by friends and fans. Due Nov. 11, the 15-track audio anthology will be available with and without the DVD. he DVD will feature clips for 32 songs, including such hits as "Interstate Love Song," "Sex Type Thing" and "Vasoline." Highlights include a rendition of the Aerosmith classic "Sweet Emotion" with the band's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry and run through Glen Campbell's "Wichita Lineman" with the artist.

As previously reported, the tracks on the "Thank You" audio disc survey the band's five studio albums, which have sold a combined 12 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The set boasts the new song "All in the Suit You Wear," which can be sampled on the band's official Web site.

As a group, STP has been more or less dormant in the last year. Singer Scott Weiland, who has publicly battled addiction through a series of arrests and stints in rehab, has most recently been involved with the band Velvet Revolver. Rounded out by former Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum plus Suicidal Tendencies' David Kushner, the band is eyeing a February release for its debut RCA album.

STP bassist Robert DeLeo and his guitarist brother Dean produced Alien Ant Farm's latest album, "truANT." Released in August, the set debuted at No. 42 on The Billboard 200.

Here is the "Thank You" audio CD track list:

"Vasoline"
"Down"
"Wicked Garden"
"Big Empty"
"Plush"
"Big Bang Baby"

"Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart"

Are these the full music videos? I didn't realize they had that many videos if not.

I think all Greatest Hits should come with a DVD of the videos too. So far Pantera, Rob Zombie, and now STP. What am I missing?

I was going to make some sarcastic comment wondering if the DVD will include footage of Scott shooting up*...but after seeing the tracklist, this kicks nothing but ass. [though, I really wish it would've included the MTV Unplugged they did...maybe as an easter egg? ]

I'll definitely be picking it up.

* [It pisses me off that I like this band, but its lead singer keeps f'n up time and time again. No fault on the other guys, though. Perhaps if I didn't like them, I could give a rat's ass about what happened to any of 'em [i.e. any "pop" rap artist]]

Based on Amazon, the version with DVD will be $12 more than the CD-only version

best b&m price for this?? I saw someone posted that Target has it (the cd and dvd combo) for 16.99, which if true would be lowest I've seen...others have listed it for 24.99-26.99. Anyone see any lower, or know of any stores selling it for the same price as the cd only (mix up)?

I went to a local Target this morning and what a surprise, they only had the cd version, not the combo. I may check one more and if they don't have it then I will price match at Best Buy (it was $24.99 there by the way).

That price sucks! I just bought Zombie's greatest hits. It had a cd with 19 tracks & a dvd with 10 videos...and I only paid around 10 or 11 bucks for it. Why is STP so high?

I wonder if they will release the videos separately. i already have all of their albums & can make my own greatest hits for free.

Sheryl Crow's greatest hits was the same as STP - extra $10 or so for the cd/dvd combo. So much for all the reports of how record companies were trying to combat downloading by including "free" dvds with cd's. BTW Zombie's excellent set is $9.99 this week at Best Buy.

Just got it at Target for 16.99 -- it was sold out from the shelf, but an employee brought more from back for me.

Plus, I got the Sheryl Crow special edition last week for 9.99, so I'm on a roll

I came to the conclusion that 16.99 was the cheapest....so it ends up being $5 for the dvd. I still have a problem re-buying all of those songs (even the new song which has been around), but I'd pay $17 for the dvd alone, so who the hell cares.

Didnt mention it before but I completely agree with Rogue588, sucks to be a big fan of this band with Scott f'n up again. I feel bad for the guy and his gorgeous ex and his child, but enough is enough...you can only cure yourself from addiction if you want to be cured...grow up Scott, please...not for your fans but for your kid.

Found it at Target this morning. Plenty of copies (but it was only 8:30am). Very good price for the set. Like the fold-out cover art, too.

Yes the fold out cover art was very revealing The dvd is excellent and was definitely worth it at the $16.99 price.
