Van Halen's 1984.

And don't anybody try telling me that abomination after Dave left was still the same group.

Just out of curiosity, what is considered the superior Beatles record?

The general consensus used to be Sgt. Pepper, but it has changed in recent years to Revolver. I personally feel that Rubber Soul and A Hard Days Night are their best.

Machina II aside, there was a greatest hits album...

Greatest Hits album don't really count.

Yes, I think "Machina" was an amazing album.

I'll second Abbey Road.

Also, Back for the Attack by Dokken (Though they broke up after a live album, and has reformed and broke up again since) One of my favorite albums.

Great list, mordecai. Tons of obvious choices that I didn't think of.

Although I'd argue Emergcency & I is quite a bit stronger than Change, but when a guy likes the Dismemberment Plan, there is no wrong choice.

Queen's "Made in Heaven" is an AWESOME album, and arguably their most emotional album. I think it could be considered their best. It doesn't have the same all-around substance as "A Night at the Opera" or "News of the World" but it's pretty damn good.

Actually INNUENDO would be their last album IMO...and their best. Made in Heaven is good, but is really a "wrap up" of bits and pieces. Innuendo is truly, their best of all time.

but that wasn't thier last studio album.

anyway, I think Teslas last studio album "Bust A Nut" was the best, even tho it didn't have any radio hits because it came out post-grunge.

KIX's "Show Business" I think is thier best too.
