Favorite version of Pink Floyds the Wall?

In case you didn't know, there are 3 versions of this concept album out there
The original 2 disc album
The movie "Pink Floyd: The Wall"
and
"Is there anybody out there?: The Wall Live"
I am going with the cop out and saying all of them. I love the album, the movie is well interesting, and as of now at least (I just got the live version today) I like the live version as well.

1989 Concert from Berlin, started with a metal whistle

I have The 24K gold plated 2 disc set with cover art 2 disc package. I have the Live concert in Berlin on Vhs 1989. I have the Roger Waters "In the Flesh" DVD disc.

I have the "Delicate Sound of Thunder CD
2 CD disc set and Vhs tape. Love that Brick in the wall roller skated to it in around 1979. The other movies I watch on ny line doubled HDTV in 480i (240 x 2).

I would like to see Delicate come out on Disc, before I would the 'live' show in Berlin, Germany.

The movie, but mainly b/c there are a couple of tracks/extended versions of tracks on there that really ought to have made the CD.

I think a soundtrack did come out but it is long out of print, since the "echos" greatest hits collection has a song from the soundtrack/movie.

"When The Tigers Broke Free" is a great song that I wish had made it onto the album.
It's the song from Echoes that Rypro mentioned.

When the "Tigers Broke Free" is a great song, but it still does not make up for Bob Geldof's sub-par singing when compared to Roger Waters. I have not listened to the live album, but I would bet dollars to doughnuts that the original album is better.

the live disc was made when the band was in their prime in 80-81. Water's voice sounds fine. Can we get the soundtrack in the near future.

The original release is the best I've heard. I only have the live version on a really old (I've had it 20 years or so) cassette (copy of a copy). The movie I'm just tired of (I haven't even bothered to replace my VHS), but it was pretty amazing the first few times I saw it.

I'm glad you posted this, maybe I can finally retire that old cassette.

The live set is really pretty great. The sound of the album is a bit more raw and energetic than the studio album. In addition, the version of Empty Spaces they perfrom is the same one that is in the film with the extended ending that called "What Shall We Do Now?"

In addition, there is a nice instrumental track called "The Last Few Bricks" where they reprise all the themes from the album while they finish the large wall they are building on stage during the show.

And yes, this was recorded when the band was together. The sound quality is nothing short of amazing.

Hard choice...i've only heard the album & movie so far.

I really would love if a soundtrack for the movie were released. I loved the version of Mother in it...as well as When The Tigers Roamed Free.

Also i think teh movie is excellent & was one of my most watched dvds. Yet my brother ruined that by being home every ngiht..that i can never watch anything unless i have the volume on mute basically. Thus i have not watch that among other dvds in over a year

Still have the album which i blast every so often
