Today's CDs (3/27)
Hem - Rabbit Songs
Fountains of Wayne - s/t
V/A - general mix CD from co-worker's brother
Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker
The Connells - Still Life
Rhett Miller - The Instigator
Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
I really like the Hem CD; great orchestration, and the lead singer has a wonderful voice. Calm folk-pop.
I'm going to try the Rhett Miller CD, but I've tried it before here at work on my CD-ROM, and it didn't play, even though it seems to play OK at home. I suspect that it's one of those CDs with the anti-copying technology that prevents you from playing them on the computer, which leads me to the following 2 questions (unsearched in the archives):
1) Is there a workaround?
2) Is there a listing of CDs with the technology (so I can avoid them)?

No cds today...
Listening to mp3s of The Microphones and The Replacements, though. I've also been listening to a mixtape my friend made me. It has artists like Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Stereolab, Radar Bros., Magnetic Fields, and The Lucksmiths on it. I think it is one of the best mixtapes anyone has ever made me...

I just saw them at Workplay in Birmingham night before last, and they were really great. You should try to see them live if you get a chance. I was very impressed; they sound so effortless.

The Cardigans - Long Gone before Daylight (excellent CD!)
Phillip Glass - The Hours soundtrack
Has anyone bought the new Robin Guthrie solo CD? I liked the Cocteau Twins, and I heard this new solo album is really atmospheric.
