<Linkin Park>:[Meteora] 25.03.03
This album sounds pretty damn good if I do say so myself. (I suppose I just did)
Just got back from a concert of their's and they played the whole thing. The concert was unbelievably good. Small venue and high energy made for a great concert experience and the opening band Blindside wasn't half bad either.
[Meteora] doesn't sound necessarily better than the first album, but then again I only heard it once.
LP fans will definately need to pick it up and if you kinda like them you won't be disappointed with this release.
{and}
If you don't like them, what ARE you doing in this thread?
Tracklist
1. Foreword
2. Don't Stay
3. Somewhere I Belong
4. Lying From You
5. Hit The Floor
6. Easier To Run
7. Faint
8. Figure.09
9. Breaking The Habit
10. From The Inside
11. Nobody's Listening
12. Session
13. Numb

I will be picking up this disc next Tuesday. I love the first album, but never really got into Reanimation that much.
A friend saw them in Mass. a week ago. He said they were awesome but the show was a bit short. Unfortunatly they're not coming around here anytime soon.
I might be picking up Blindside's album too. They have the 2 great singles, Pitiful and Sleepwalking.
Also, if people like these two bands, I would give TRUSTCompany a listen too. Their album is very similiar to LP's first in that I listen to the whole thing straight through w/o skipping any songs. That rarely happens that I can do that nowadays.

yea blindside reminded me a lot of TRUSTcompany as well
the concert was short but LP also doesn't have THAT much material to play, they played a track off of reanimation, but any more were pretty much impossible without the guest artists
the lead singer of blindside did jump onstage for LP's final song (One Step Closer) and helped Chester and the crowd scream

i'm almost done listening to it now and i have to say that i'm a little disappointed. its definetly not as good as hybrid. in fact i think i'm liking reanimation better right now. that said, i do need to listen to it a few more times, cuz you never know what songs will grow on you.
btw, anyone know what the next single is gonna be? i can't imagine what it would be cuz i think "my december" and "somewhere i belong" are better then the rest of the tracks on the album.
****EDIT****
i think the next single will be "Numb"

I also have listened to it a bunch of times the last couple days, and I'm kind of disappointed. Its not the best, but it just seems like the times on the songs are much too short (almost all clocking in well under 3 minutes) adding to that a completely instrumental song and a lot of chorus repeating, while not forgetting the fact that there are only 13 songs to begin with, I'm glad they didnt get my money for this one.

I've only managed to get about half the album so far, but I am enjoying it.... It's not a departure or too innovative, but it's a decent rocking album... I agree, a few of the songs seem a bit short...usually I'm all for short songs, because I hate long songs that overstay there welcome, but some of these seem like they could have been twice as long...that said, I'm sure fans will like it, and I think this needs to grow on me (the last 2 records both took a few listens for me to really like them...heck, i had Reanimation for a month before I really started to like it...)

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that I think it's better than Hybrid Theory.
But both are great albums. An excellent sophmore effort by LP.
The DVD has a good documentary on the making of the album and the enhanced CD is loaded with extras too, including the music video for "Somewhere I Belong". Definitely worth my $14.99 (or $9.99 for just the CD).

What a nice package. The dvd is really interesting, the 40page booklet is excellent. Now that I've been listening to it for a few days, I can say that this album rocks. In fact, I think it is better than Hybrid Theory.
It has a lot of solid songs...the album may be short, but there is not much (if any) filler... It's all solid. IMO, the best tracks are: Don't Stay, Figure 09, Numb, Easier to Run and man...I never thought a japanese pan flute could sound so cool as it does on Nobody's Listening (which is my favourite track right now).
I think those who don't like it should give it a few spins and see... I think it's probably their best work...
