New Tool Commercial on MTV

Don't know if any one else here caught this, but Tool has a commercial rotating on MTV. It doesn't mention tool or say anything, just the throat singers and obvious tool imagry. Smells like the DVD might be closer than we expected!

Got this from Toolarmy, btw, don't know if it has really shown up anywhere else, but here is a link:

Tool DVD! That would be cool. The commercial while great for Tool fans really alienates everybody else. I hope it's true, first Slipknot, then Tool and Rush releasing DVD's!!!!

It has to be the DVD, what other Tool projects are going on right now besides the DVD? None that I know of.

Gimme Tool live in 5.1 DTS!!

I think the point of it seems to be a secret message kind of to Tool fans. They are the only ones who would understand such a message and are really the only ones that matter hehe. The disc will include one full concert, parabola/schism videos, and some other behind the scenes type of stuff. Adam hinted at the release being "in time for xmas" this year the other day in a chat, but if the commercials are already showing up, it's definitely sooner than that. There are no other tool releases on the block, so it has to be a disc!

I'm banking on at least DTS in some form. I can't see them skimping on a release like this, especially when their Brethren in NIN released such an awesome dvd last year. I'm hoping separate DTS and DD releases, that would be awesome if they did it in ES too, but that's a stretch prolly hehe.

I really hope it is one full concert and not a bunch spliced together, like some other DVD's are. Or even better they can just release ALL of those last shows they recorded!

I was at 2 of the shows they taped...so I may have a good shot of it being on the DVD!

I was at one they taped (Reno in November.) It most likely will be like the NIN release, with performances seamlessly spliced together. Unless they felt that they had one great holy performance and throw the whole thing on, but I hope that at least Third Eye gets on there!

Definitely looking forward to the DVD. My guess is that there will be loads of extras and craziness.

I think the DVD has been put on the back burner as they are gearing p to record the new album this summer.

I have a feeling the DVD might be released around the same time as the CD. I'm fairly certain it's pretty much complete, as most of the editting work would have been done by extended members of the band (Blair, Camella, etc. and various other camera people.)

I read a rumor yesterday that there is a possibility that the next record would be a double cd. I don't think it's too far fetched either considering the jump they made with Lateralus.
