I absolutely love:

The Shins - Oh, Inverted World

Everyone go out and buy/download/listen to it, somehow!

I actually wish I could've had the DJ play this for my date and I at Senior Prom.

Wasn't "Get Over It" a pretty decent sized hit? MTV2 played the living hell out of it, at least, and I know it made the top 20 in Billboard's Modern Rock charts. Not sure where it peaked. I like the album, but it's a little too uneven for me.

My pick would be "Retreat From The Sun" by that dog., which is easily my favorite album of all time.

A couple other random recommendations:

"My Way or the Highway" by Tuscadero
"Twice Removed" by Sloan
"The Fox" by the Rondelles
"Because We Hate You" by the Young Fresh Fellows (not too big on the Minus 5 part of the double album)

Elysian Fields. Basically any album by them, particularly Queen of the Meadow, or the new one that's only out in Europe (and I paid through the nose to get) called Dreams that Breathe Your Name. www.elysianmusic.com

Jennifer Charles of Lovage (which is also a great disc) fame has the most dreamy voice...

Eleni Mandell

She's got four albums out: Wishbone, Thrill, Snakebite and Country for True Lovers. Her two latest, Snakebite and Country..., are beautiful albums. Her first two are good, but I think she just hit it right on her latest ones.

Yep. I'd like to add "The Microphones", "Built To Spill" and "The Radar Bros.". All of their stuff is incredible.

Woah! I didn't know he had another project going. I kinda stopped paying attention during the Onelinedrawing period. As soon as I saw this though I thought "Johah from Far?" and looked up the band. I'll have to check this out now! Thanks!

Yeah, maybe I have, but there's just something about the feel of this album I love.

"Spilt Milk," the 2nd album from Jellyfish. Especially the songs "Glutton of Sympathy" and "Bye, Bye, Bye."

"Misplaced Childhood," the 3rd album from Marillion.

One of the best alt. rock albums from the Seattle scene. It came out in 94.

They broke up in 96, then got back together and recorded "The Waiting Room" in 2002, and improved even more.
