I'd be rolling my eyes and playing with my hair if I had to do an interview with Nelly too.

Her spoiler 12 year old act will help her out in her future pr0n career when the masses turn there backs on her for the next big thing and her CDs choke the Used CD bins.

That'd be interesting news to David, since I've heard him pronounce it many times (as BO-WEE), as well as to Jim Bowie, the American hero whose name he took (also taken by a knife). BTW, David Bowie's real name is David Jones.

No, not that one.

Actually, I had heard David Bowie say this years ago.

Howard Stern said he knew a DJ that kept saying it the way Avril did, the DJ was from UK.

[rant]

Inside edition showed this great video from 2 years ago at a Shania Twain Concert. And there's Avril, Onstage, Looking like a prissy contry star wannabe, singing "the woman in me"! It was like a bad Star Search flashback She won a radio show contest to get to sing a song during one of Shania's breaks! It was great. In less than 24 months she has apparently gone from Country Singer wannabe to Pseudo Rebelious Punk Rocker.

I think its a shame the grammy's even know her name. She's a tripe studio production, probably the result of a half dozen focus groups.

If she gets so much as one award, i'm going on a Grammy boycott, cause in my opinion it will be the last nail in the grammy's coffin. The first Nail being Christina Aqguileragagqa winning best new artist. I mean if they're going to start judging the grammy's on Popularity rather than artistic expression, or actual music then they might as well call it the American Music Awards.

I actually thought she deserved the award. The songs on her first CD were OK, but she has an absolutely AMAZING voice. That, alone, was deserving of the award, in my opinion.

Now, the crap she's doing, currently, welp, it's not! haha

Well she got nominated again for that crap

BTW : The year she won for Best New Artist, the only song that was released during the eligibility period was Genie in a Bottle, so in reality she won that award for one song. I agree with the guy who posted that the award might have been a vote against Brittany rather than for Christina.

She seems to be taking a stroll down Fiona Apple Boulevard. Fiona Apple was one of the most amazing performers I ever saw live. I saw her open for Chris Isaak at the Tower Theatre back in 1996 and she was incredible. I worked for a radio station at the time, so I got to meet her backstage. She was extremely shy at the time and acted appreciative of our praise for her.

Then she started opening her mouth, and that was pretty much the beginning of the end. We didn't need to hear her spouting off about every issue of concern to her. She alienated so many fans she is still MIA to this day, and ready for her Behind the Music special. It is a shame too, because I thought her 2nd album (with the really long name) was as good as Tidal.

Avril Lavigne is about as punk as Britney Spears. Nothing but a pop singer.

Funny. Bowie's a brit and the five times I've seen him in concert he's pronounced his name "Boe-wee". Of anyone, I'd think he knows how to pronounce his name.

I could have sworn he presented at some awards show and called Lauren Hill "Lawrence". I remember it because he did that funky eyeroll thing he always does. So maybe he's in on Paul's joke.

She has done this before. I saw her on Entertainment Tonight in an interview given by that young new dude and all she did was look down, smack her lips, and curl her hair with her finger saying she is just happy.

She did not once look up at the interviewer or even the camera.

And if her newest single is anything to enliven her "punkness" she needs to get out now or just come out of the lie she is living and express herself as being pop.

The only reason she is even grammy nominated is because of the 12 -13 year olds who went out and made her album the second best selling album of 2002.

And Grammys give into record sales in their big awards.

My sentiments EXACTLY. Nelly is a waste...however, less of a waste than Avril.

I just can't wait for 10 years from now, when she's nothing and has to do porn or playboy like Tiffany to get back into the public eye for 30 seconds...

Tripe studio? So is that a studio inside a cow's stomach?

Actually I was referring to it's second definition:
Webster's: "Something poor, worthless, or offensive"
Which perfectly sums up Avril's Place in music.

He also got 5 nominations. I think the CD is pretty weak, depending too heavily on a couple of catchy singles that have redefined the term "overplayed". He also deserved no nominations in my opinion.

No offense, but do you have some kinda kick back coming your way from the RIAA for always defending the suckiest of suck music acts on here?

ok i just thought of something.I know you love to rip on Avril & all the little dumb so called poser's out there(face it..nearly all musicans are).

Yet did anyone stop to think that just maybe she prononced it differenty is because she is Canadian?

I mean for example they say Aboot & not About. So what if she just pronounced it as how she pronounces O's & said Boowee instead of Bo-ee?

Just something to consider

Oh and as for so called punks.Been mentioned before, but real punk died out just as it began which means it lost it's meaning instentaniously once everyone turned it into a trend(late '70's-present).

Real punk is being yourself & doing what you like to do,dress how you like, talk how you like,be independant & so on.

Poser punk which is what everyone really is no matter what they claim. Is adopting a certain image(black leather, tatoo's,piercings & so on) in order to be apart of a similar crowd..ie-conform & think as one than as yourself.

So much like how Green Day faced a huge backlash once they became big. Those so called 'real' punker's who now hate them are nothing but poser's anyway & may realize that once they grow up,otherwise we're in trouble

+ punk is not just one style of music.Sure it's loud, fast, guitar ridden.Yet alot of it's pop none the less.just look at The Ramones...does'nt sound like what people consider 'punk'. It's definately pop rock/punk.

Of course what made The Ramones punk is they played the music they liked. No one told them "you must look this way, sound like this & play this only since this is whats hip & in!"..they just did there own thing, which was just loud fast pop rock/punk.

Avril is not even Ramones pop-punk since she's obviously manufactored by the record company(proven by how she tries to claim to be something shes not & just won't be honest) just like so many other groups.Sure shes a ok singer, some of the songs are catchy..but sometimes lack substance since it's manufactored.Theres no real heart to it like most music today be it underground or mainstream since everyones trying to copy everyone else who happen to be 'in' at the moment.

Yet if you just play what you like regardless of what others are playing or may think. Then more power to you!!!!

Julie,

She said herself (after finding out what she did that) that she made mistakes. So evidently she made a mistake, the bitch.

Now just watch-if she ever mentions the kid rapper Bow Wow (he dropped the "L'il") she pronounce it "bow" as in Bowie.

No one I know says "aboot". Most Canadians speak without any discernable accent.

BTW, she doesn't "suck" -- sounded great this week on SNL. her voice sounded better live than the recordings.
