jarsim- How are the Suede, James, and Supergrass cds? I'm fans of all three (obviously) and haven't heard much about any of these.
Too bad about James splitting after all of these years.

Let me chime in here and say that the new Suede album is a big disappointment. Very few of the songs, have the catchiness or memorable tunes the last two albums had. Need to give the Supergrass album a second listen since it is somewhere buried in my house (all my cd's are everywhere).

Suede - a disappointment for me too (but only after 2 listens)
(Premature Thumbs down)
Supergrass - I've warmed up to it after 2nd listen (Thumbs up)
James - I purchased the DVD (haven't received it yet), I believe there is a CD version of their last concert as well too . . .
You're probably not familiar with them as they're not available in the US.

Really cool about there being a DVD of the live album. I think I saw an ad for that in Q a few months ago.
Too bad about the new Suede. A friend of a friend put together a two CD B-side and rairties album that consisted of newer songs and stuff excluded off of Sci-Fi (including an EP of Justine Frischmann backed early Suede). Amazing stuff. I was hoping that because of the quality the newer B-sides that the new album would be excellent.

Suede are terrible now--they've gone from being so high to such a low.

I was at Besy Buy and was thinking about picking up the Manics best of or the new Supergrass and they had neither and I mean they had absolutely nothing by either band. This is why I usually shop at smaller stores.

The new Supergrass still shows up as an import at Amazon.com, so evidentally it still hasn't been released in the US. You're not going to find it anywhere . . . time to order it from the UK!

I can usually get imports for cheap at a couple of places in Greenwich Village. Still there's always the possibility if it being released with bonus stuff in the US. So the question is do I wait?

I don't normally recommend doing this since I don't even follow my own advice. But with the last two Supergrass albums, the US editions have had "exclusive" extras. So... wait.. I guess.
remjim, what record stores in Greenwich Village do you recommend for 'cheap' imports?

I forget the name of the place- its across the street from Sounds in St. Mark's Place. The store is on the lower level and usually has cds for sale in front. Imports are about 18. Sounds is also good for this. Check the massive used bins for these. Promos/advances can also be found. Disc-O-Rama (of which there are a few in the Village) are good as well for the same reaons that Sounds is (promos, etc.). Esthereo (I think that is the name) on Avenue A near St. Mark's is another good place. I picked up an Orbital import for 15 there.
One more that is not in the Village: Virgin Megastore in Times Square will have some good prices from time to time.
Good luck!
