Ok, i have basically done clubs and what not for my gigs, so i never really had any decent speakers/amps for myself. I was looking to purchase some equipment, i guess nothing top of the line, because money IS an issue here, just something that soudns decent, and i something that can do a small party, maybe 100-200 people.

I'm also looking to laying down some tracks with some live mixes or mixes i put together in my basement...i may just get an external CD recorder for that, since i don't feel like screwing around with my computer to mix.

I looked at the Gemini XTR-400 setup, which is two 10" along with a powered 15" sub that runs everything w/built in amp. Anyone hear of this? Any good?

What speakers do you recommend? amps?

don't know about speakers or amps because my setup is connect to some very small but powerful computer speakers. used for practice at home.

what kind of tables and mixer do you have? and headphones..?

also what do you spin?

Actually, i replaced the Vinyl (always used my bro's tables since he DJ's too, considering re-investing in tables again though, just gotta dig up my vinyl)....i have the Pioneer CDJ-1000's and a Vestax PCV-175 mixer. My headphones are the Sony 700DJ phones, but they have already cracked twice on me (junk), so i think i'm going to invest in the new Pioneers phones that just came out.

Anyways, what i spin....almost anything. I DJ'd a club with rock music for a while, not what i really wanted to do, but i knew the people, damn fun club, don't think i left sober ever. I'm really into Florida Breakz and almost anything really. Some progressive house, progressive trance stuff....every once and a while get into the chill-out aspect too. I try not to label myself really.

I'm just looking to throw some demo's out there now...prolly just use a TASCAM CD-RW4U external recorder that i'll hook up to my mixer, make live mixes, then possibly mix-down on my computer...
