Actually it was a pretty good album of covers.

Get your facts straight. The only other thing they put out after the Illusions was The Spaghetti Incident

The Spaghetti Incident has a few decent tracks, but untimately it's nothing but filler.

I for one am looking forward to the album, I think it will be great, I love that one song Madagascar. Ofcourse I'm up for anything different than the latest batch of Creed ripoffs and horrible Nu Metal.......rock music needs a good kick in the ass.

For the most part, a civil thread is more likely to remain an open thread....

.... the way things are going, this one doesn't seem to have much of a future

Izzy Stradlin was the guy who wrote their best songs. He was the one person who gave this band that classic Rolling Stones-y Rock n' Roll sound. Every true die-hard GN'R fan knows this.

They will never be Guns n' Roses without Izzy Stradlin. This new incarnation is just a pathetic cover band.
So true, Izzy was huge for GnR. All anyone remembers is Rose and some guy with a top hat that looked like Cousin It. I'll give them a chance because the band members now are pretty damn good but Izzy was very important to GnR's songs (and I'm sure Tracii had some part as well).

As for the comparison to the other 'hair bands'? GnR never fell into that group. They were hated by most of the 'Sunset Strip' hair bands at that time because they were not really like them (if that makes any sense).
