Coldplay's New Album

Well, i've gotten an early copy of Coldplay's new album "A Rush of Blood to the Head."

I cannot put into words how much i love this album. I loved parachutes (my favorite album of 2000) but this album just seems stronger in every way. I feel very lucky to be a Coldplay fan at this time.

I really reccomend trying to get a copy of this cd by any means necessary, legal or not. It's that good.

-J

P.S. - I don't want to spoil any aspect of any song for you with reviews, but know that every song is genius.

damn you! now i'll have to go hunting for that song. i loved Parachutes so until late august when i buy the cd, i need to get my hands on some early listening!

edit to add: just noticed your name was BenFolds. you have good taste in music! i went to his last concert in Champaign and had the time of my life. His CD and the concert mix i made are still in my regular cd rotation.

another edit to add: i just tried to send you an email as i was having difficulty locating this album but i got bounced back. anyways, that's a good thing because ironically i went to the coldplay message board and found other ways i hadn't tried which seem to be working out.

check out this article anyways for a laugh

yeah RUSH OF BLOOD is really terrific

they took the best of Parachutes and added a few rough edges and upped the tempo slightly and it turned out great

the opening track "Politik" is my favorite so far

hits stores on August 27th

1. Clocks
2. The Scientist
3. A Rush of Blood to the Head
4. Amsterdam
5. Warning Sign
6. In My Place
7. Politik
8. Daylight
9. God Put a Smile Upon My Face
10. Green Eyes
11. A Whisper

I saw the video for the first single on MTV (couldn't believe it)

but can't remember for the life of me the name of that song.

Someone help me with the name.

Thanks

In My Place is a great song, but I think I'm going to wait until the album comes out to hear the rest of it.

I really hate being broke, you guys are making me jealous...but I am so pumped now that it could possibly be better than Parachutes, which was a great album itself.

their Mtv2 $2 bill show was excellent, too. (unfortunately I wasn't there and had to watch it on tv, if any of you were there, you suck)

I was able to pick up a copy of the album this morning, and it's phenomenal! It goes above and beyond the expectations that I had for it, and it is much better than Parachutes.

My personal favorite track is "The Scientist", probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

Very highly recommended. One of the top albums of the year so far, if not THE best so far.

Coldplay has nothing in common with nu metal. The closest "big" artists they sound like are probably Radiohead. I'd probably call them dream pop, but they really defy description.

I really LOVE Track 5 - "Clocks"... it's probably my favorite Coldplay song, although the whole album is definitely top-notch.

Coldplay is > than * Nu metal. Nu Metal is garbage IMO.

I downloaded most of their album "Parachutes" a couple weeks back. Brill stuff I tell ya. I will be buying "Parachutes" and "A Rush of blood to the head" soon.

great album indeed. its much better than i expected too. maybe since im half deaf or that i have a crap taste of music but i thought they sounded a little like some of the light classic rock of the 70's. i like track one and 4 the best and even though i was half way watching anna and martina get there butts whiped on usa, i still enjoyed this more than any other rock album this year (eminem with the exception) highly recommended.

I too like Clocks and the Scientist as my fave's so far, but I will listen more and more.

At Tower on Columbus in sf, it apparently was every 3rd sale, on tuesday.

Althought the 2 people in front of me both bought the pink cd

I picked up this album yesterday as soon as it dropped. I'm extremely happy with it. I'd rank the tracks like this...

Politik
Clocks
The Scientist
God Put A Smile Upon Your Face
A Rush of Blood to the Head
In My Place
Daylight
Amsterdam
Green Eyes
Warning Sign
A Whisper

But I like every song on the album.

I picked up this album today and am really enjoying it. I haven't really listened to their music other than what's played on the radio. Is "Parachutes" their only other album?

I'm pretty certain I've heard people recommend them to Radiohead fans. Are there any other bands out there along the lines of Coldplay that you'd recommend to a Radiohead fan?
