Puffy was always #2, behind B.I.G. Biggy had better mic skills, better songs, better everything. Puffy had no chance to overtake him.
So Puffy put a hit out on him. With all the hype surrounding the East/West feud, it could be made to look like a West Coast gang killing.
Puffy is no the patriarch of the Bad Boy family, and has what he wants. The #1 East Coast r apper, at least in his mind.
