I've just discovered the Hives!!!!

The Hives are a punk band from Sweden. I just heard their song, "Hate to Say I Told You So." It's awesome.

Can anybody tell me more about them?

On a side note, I also heard a group called Quarashi on MTV2. It was a rap group from Iceland. They weren't bad either but they sounded a lot like the Beastie Boys.

The Hives have been around for ages. Veni Vidi Vicious just got released domestically in the U.S. last week. You can pick it up for $7 no problem.

My feelings on the Hives? Snoozers.

Man, this may be the only time we agree on music. I despise the Hives and can't understand why people like them. My first thought when I heard them was: They're kinda like the Clash, if the Clash sucked a$$.

The Hives are great!
I would suggest checking out Rocket From The Crypt (a huge influence on The Hives).

I enjoy the Hives and think they are decent enough, but Quarashi kinda pissed me off. I thought that first song "Stick Em Up" was ok so i downloaded their album and the rest of it sounds like really bad Beastie Boys music.

Right on!

I will give them a little credit though; I'd rather have commercial radio playing knock-off Clash bands than knock-off Limp Bizkit bands.

I really don't see why everyone is comparing the Hives to the Clash. I don't think they sound a thing like the Clash.

Love the Hives. Got turned on to them by othermusic.com

I don't hear the similarities to the Clash at all. No reggae or dub influences. I think my personal favorite Hives song is "a.k.a. I.D.I.O.T."

I was speaking of early Clash (first two albums).

I only heard about 4 songs.

I enjoy them also. It won't change the world, but the music is a lot of fun.

I've downloaded a couple of songs from these guys and they rock pretty good. They are playing here in Baltimore at the Recher Theatre. It's a $2 show. I might have to check them out if it's not sold out.

I've got 'Your New Favorite Band' and I like them well enough. Nothing mind blowing, but as stated above, a lot of fun!
