Travis

I just downloaded some of their stuff and liked the songs Turn and Why Does it Always Rain on Me? Which of their albums sounds most like these songs. Also, any similar sounding bands? Any other recommedations based on the songs I like? Thanks for the help.

The Man Who and The Invisible Band are their latest two albums and they both sound like those songs you mentioned. of course, The Man Who has those 2 songs on the album so it should sound like those songs. But anyway . .

As for bands who sound like Travis, you might try Coldplay

I would also suggest downloading "happy", "tied to the 90's", All I want to do is rock, flowers in the "window", and "writing to reach you". Some of my favourite tracks from their 3 albums. Also download their single "coming around" which is an excellent song that was unexplicably omitted from their latest CD. It was released in the period between their last 2 CD's.

And then of course, purchasing their CD's. I firmly beleive one has to support bands that don't give the the same old.

Yeah I figured that the album they came from would be good, I was just looking for other album recommendations. Thanks for the info.

I'd also like to hear everyone's favorite song by them.

I usually do purchase albums if I like what I hear, so don't worry about that.

Travis covered Baby One More Time, but you can only find it on the UK single of Why Does it Always Rain On Me or the US single Turn.
My favorite Travis song is As You Are.

Try to find their version of B. Spears' "Hit me baby one more time". It's pretty funny.

Just came back. They did an encore w/ Remy Zero of David Bowie's "Heroes". In-freakin-credible!

Thanks for the link, that was a nice half hour show. Fran and the fellas seem to be really cool. Here are two of my favorite Fran quotes.

"Guitar bands, man. There is sooo much indiewank. Give it up. Don't just make angry music. Make people f*ckin' feel something." - Fran Healy

"We live in a junk culture. It's junk food, junk music, and junk clothing - it's all about the surface. None of it works. It looks great on the TV when it's marketed but when you get it home, it breaks within two days." - Fran Healy
