October New Release List

Well, I had some time and compiled this list of October new releases. Keep in mind it is very incomplete. Every Tuesday new discs come out, and there are over 100 releases per week. I put only the larger a more well known releases. Feel free to post additions if you feel they belong in the thread, and people should know about them.

Often times, release dates are delayed in the music industry, so these dates could and will sometimes fall through.

Enjoy, I hope you find it usefull. In theory, if well received I'll put this together each month.

OCTOBER

I just wanted to say thanks. This thread is a great idea. I often don't even know many albums I want are actually out until I see them in the store. We should try to have a thead like this every week.

Ditto!

This is the first I've heard of the new Bush, Cranberries, and Enigma discs. I'll be buying them for certain now.

I sure hope Bush's new album is better than their last one. I loved their first two, but the last one sucked. Warm Machines was the only song I really liked on it.

I've had The Cranberries, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee, for a few weeks now and it's pretty good. It's typical Cranberries but they are maturing nicely in their music.

Could you please add The Strokes' "Is This It" to October 9th?

It was due on Sept. 25 but they pushed to now to take off the "New YOrk City Cops" song and add "When It Started".

Also the cover art is different for the United States than in Europe where the album came out last month with the NYC Cops track.

IS THIS IT is a Great great rock album. These guys are starting to get press from every publication and they deserve it. They are huge in UK but hail from New York City.

As far as I know the Enigma is a best of. they've been advertising it on tv, with a free dvd, for 22 dollars + shipping

Let me add Tomahawk and their self-titled debut to the October 30 list. This being released on Mike Patton's Ipecac label.

Tomahawk is Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, etc.), Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard), Kevin Rutmanis (The Cows, Melvins), and John Stanier (Helmet).

There's another excellent list at:

http://www.pauseandplay.com

It's sorted by artist, not date though.... I like this thread so I can see each week's releases.

I didn't realize the new New Order album isn't out here yet. I bought it 2 weeks ago in Hong Kong.

I buy all UK releases from Amazon uk, get them here in 4 days to the west coast, and at a cost of about 13 dollars each, can't beat it. Why wait for new order etc to get released in the USA when you can already own it way cheaper

It's not on the list, but the new Aphex Twin album, "drukqs", also came out in the U.S. today, 10/23.

Dunno if anyone here cares, but there ya go.
