It's pretty hard to beat Planet of the Apes. Also, the final shot of The Searchers is pretty great.

I always liked the final crane shot in The Untouchables.
And the final shot in Star Wars. |

I also think Usual Suspects.
MIB was also kind of amusing. Fists of Fury Con Air Disturbing Behavior Mummy |
I know it is kind of corny, but I always liked the final sequence in Titanic where old morphs into new.

This one's a bit obscure but who remembers...
Electra Glide in Blue with Robert Blake as the motorcycle cop? |
Not sure if it's my favorite, but it just stood out in my mind.
The Big Combo - With the light in the background and all you see are the shadows of two people. Oh and of a wheelbarrow too! |

do the right thing, usual suspects, full metal jacket... and... yikes... i also liked the corny ending of titanic.<small>

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Planet of the Apes Men in Black From Dusk till Dawn Batman Iron Giant |
Braveheart

Castaway had the nice CrossRoads shot. But I think the godfather.... Micheal having his hand kissed, the door shutting while kay looks in. Cinematic perfection.

The Godfather
Amadeus Do the Right Thing LOTR Fellowship Spider-Man Back to the Future Se7en Fight Club Brazil Robocop Eyes Wide Shut The Silence of the Lambs |
So many of the ones listed above are great, but I'd just like to add the final shot in Once Upon A Time In the West. I think it's really great.

Barton Fink Vanilla Sky Hedwig and the Angry Inch The Deer Hunter Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) And, of course, The Graduate |
Some great choices already mentioned. For movies I would say, The Godfather. "A picture is worth a thousand words" is true!
I would also like to mention a television show. The last shot of the pilot of "The Shield" is a humdinger. |
Series 7 - When we find out who the contestant for Series 8 is! MWAHHAHAHA!

- Shawshank
- Carlito's Way (gotta love it) - Usual Supsects (obviously) - Godfater Part II (all at the table) - Spartacus - Mallrats (Jaws/Suzanne) |
Shawshank Redemption will always be my favorite final shot.
Recent flicks: I really liked the end shot of Gangs of NY with the city "modernizing". |

Surprised no one mentioned Evil Dead 2. Talk about right out of left field! (of course, this is assuming you saw the film way back when, before knowing about Army of Darkness).
Also agree with already mentioned: Raiders of the Lost Ark The Thing Fight Club Hard Core Logo Cruel Intentions (maybe its just because I love the song "Bittersweet Symphony") Evil Dead 1 |
