Sorry - I guess my original topic contained a spoiler - I thought about it seriously but decided it was not a spoiler - I gave no clue about which character in the film was involved - oh,well,to each his own.

The last shot in Dr. Strangelove is excellent!

bluemagic 03-19-01 05:37 PM

Have to go with the ending of Brazil, specifically the director's cut version of course.

A Clockwork Orange
From Dusk Till Dawn

caiman 03-19-01 10:13 PM

Psycho - The Norman-to-skull face shot, and the pulling of the car from pond, both classic.
Reservoir Dogs - Awesome how the camera just pans upward, letting the audio finish the story.
Primal Fear - Very unsettling.
Meet the Parents - "Can you deal with THAT!!?"
The Matrix - A little cheesy, but cool nonetheless.
The Blair Witch Project - Already mentioned, but the perfect example of a truly creepy final camera shot.

cruzness 03-19-01 10:51 PM

The ending to the usual suspects stands out as a favorite

Doctor Gonzo 03-19-01 11:35 PM

John Wayne facing away from the camera as the door closes in "The Searchers" - one of the all-time great last shots!

QuanTum 03-19-01 11:42 PM

Love and Death

Absolutely phenomenal last shot with Woody Allen dancing away with Death. Always has stuck with me.

I've always wanted a poster of it!

AndyTate 03-20-01 08:17 AM

- Thelma and Louise; come on guys, that was great!

- Spanish Prisioner

- Thelma and Louise

- Homicide

*******************
SPOILER for Homicide

*******************

Joe's character finds out what "Grofaz" meant. That Mamet could come up with a hilarious ending to that film was brilliant!
